Expand replicated bricks to more nodes/change replica count
Hi list I have set up several volumes on a two-node Gluster setup using "replica 2" configurations. I would like to add two more nodes to the trusted pool so that all volumes are replicated on 4 nodes. I wonder if that can be done online, but after doing some research on this I didn't find evidence that it's possible to change the replica count _after_ the volume has been

libgfapi failover problem on replica bricks
Hello, I'm having an issue with rebooting bricks holding images for live KVM machines (using libgfapi). I have a replicated+distributed setup of 4 bricks (2x2). The cluster contains images for a couple of kvm virtual machines. My problem is that when I reboot a brick containing a an image of a VM, the VM will start throwing disk errors and eventually die. The gluster volume is made like

Hi, Please let us know what commands you ran so far and the output of the *gluster volume info* command. Creating cluster replica on 2 nodes 2 bricks each.
Hello We are trying to setup Gluster for our project/scratch storage HPC machine using a replicated mode with 2 nodes, 2 bricks each (14tb each). Our goal is to be able to have a replicated system between node 1 and 2 (A bricks) and add an additional 2 bricks (B bricks) from the 2 nodes. so we can have a total of 28tb replicated mode. Node 1 [ (Brick A) (Brick B) ] Node 2 [ (Brick A) (Brick

Creating cluster replica on 2 nodes 2 bricks each.
Hi Jose, Gluster is working as expected. The Distribute-replicated type just means that there are now 2 replica sets and files will be distributed across them. A volume of type Replicate (1xn where n is the number of bricks in the replica set) indicates there is no distribution (all files on the volume will be present on all the bricks in the volume). A volume of type Distributed-Replicate

Creating cluster replica on 2 nodes 2 bricks each.
Hi Nithya This is what i have so far, I have peer both cluster nodes together as replica, from node 1A and 1B , now when i tried to add it , i get the error that it is already part of a volume. when i run the cluster volume info , i see that has switch to distributed-replica. Thanks Jose [root at gluster01 ~]# gluster volume status Status of volume: scratch Gluster process

AnimeStudioPro7 crashed with openSUSE 11.4
I'm trying to get Anime Studio Pro 7 (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=22798) run in openSUSE 11.4 but the application crashes on startup. (Whole UI loads before crash) I've tried both KDE and Gnome-versions in virtualbox and on actual machine. Wine 1.3.12. I can and do run the application in Ubuntu 10.10, 11.04 and Linux Mint 10 with wine versions 1.2.2

Howto add bricks to a replicated Volume
Hi, I am running a three Node replicated Volume and need to add more Bricks. What I've read so far this that this is not really possible so the question is how it should/can be done? Can I create a replicated Volume with 10000 Bricks where 9997 are missing? Is there a way that I didn't find so far? The Gluster Volume is used to store images for a Webshop in the Amazon Cloud and I

FreeBSD problem adding/removing replicated bricks
Hi Folks, I'm trying to debug an issue that I've found while attempting to qualify GlusterFS for potential distributed storage projects on the FreeBSD-11.1 server platform - using the existing package of GlusterFS v3.11.1_4 The main issue I've encountered is that I cannot add new bricks while setting/increasing the replica count. If I create a replicated volume "poc" on

Expand distributed replicated volume with new set of smaller bricks
Hi, Yes this is possible. Make sure you have cluster.weighted-rebalance enabled for the volume and run rebalance with the start force option. Which version of gluster are you running (we fixed a bug around this a while ago)? Expand distributed replicated volume with new set of smaller bricks
We currently have a 3 node gluster setup each has a 100TB brick (total 300TB, usable 100TB due to replica factor 3) We would like to expand the existing volume by adding another 3 nodes, but each will only have a 50TB brick. I think this is possible, but will it affect gluster performance and if so, by how much. Assuming we run a rebalance with force option, will this distribute the existing data

NUT fails on openSUSE 11.3 if IPv6 turned off
Dear List, I'm running NUT 2.4.1 on openSUSE 11.3 64 bits, kernel 2.6.34. The UPS is an Eaton Ellipse ASR 1500 USBS. With driver usbhid-ups NUT works perfectly _until_ I turn off IPv6. By default IPv6 is turned on in openSUSE 11.3. I visited YaST -> Network Settings -> Global options and deselected "Enable IPv6". I then restarted the box. When I entered the command

trouble installing packages on OpenSuse 11.4
Hi, I am trying to install a bunch of packages via command line and can use some help in getting it right. My env is a freshly setup OpenSuse 11.4 on an amd desktop. I have not yet installed gcc (Will I need gcc to install packages? I have installed make, assuming R might need it.). I have tried it both under R2.12 and R2.13. I have a list of packages to install such as fImport, fGarch, zoo,

Replicated and Non Replicated Bricks on Same Partition
Gluster-Users, We currently have a 30 node Gluster Distributed-Replicate 15 x 2 filesystem. Each node has a ~20TB xfs filesystem mounted to /data and the bricks live on /data/brick. We have been very happy with this setup, but are now collecting more data that doesn't need to be replicated because it can be easily regenerated. Most of the data lives on our replicated volume and is

Debian 6 PV on openSUSE 11.4 Xen
Hi, I''m trying to install Debian Squeeze as DomU on an openSUSE 11.4 Xen host but fail all the time. I''ve also searched Google and Debian as well as openSUSE resources but haven''t found any hint about my issue :-( First I''ve tried to install it as a paravirtualized guest but when the Debian installer tries to detect the disks I get this: [ 173.233735]

Opensuse 11.4 domU hang on boot
Hello Everyone! Been looking around the internet but have not found a solution for my problem yet, all i found was a report on opensuse forums with no replays. I have a Xen dom0 running on OpenSuse 11.4 x86_64, on this I’ve created 3 PV instances all running OpenSuse 11.4 x86_64 as well. All 3 PVs were installed the same way with the same package selection and only ONE of this 3 PVs hangs at
