Enumerating over a Tree by Depth
I have a model using acts_as_tree which is working fine.
Being new to Ruby I''m don''t know what enumerator is best to use for
traversing a tree by depth. I can write one, but before I do I wanted
to know if there is there an enumerator for traversing trees available
that the community recommends?
Thank you,
Jose

Samba Printing Question
Hello Samba Gurus:
I have a unusual printing problem on a Samba server (version
samba-1.9.18p7) on a Solaris 2.6 server.
Basically I had 2 Solaris 2.5.1 machines that were retired when this new
machine was deployed. Each individual machine had Samba shares and printers
on it individually. Those file systems and printers were then duplicated on
the new server. The version of Samba was the same

Printing to FreeBSD server from XP using samba
A couple of days ago I set up my printer on my FreeBSD server and set it
up so I could print from my FreeBSD client. This all works very well,
printing from botht the server and the FBSD client. However, I also have
samba set up for file serving with an XP box. I have been trying for
quite some time now to set samba up to enable me to print from the XP
client. My situation at the moment is that

Using Clevis/Tang (NBDE) to automatically decrypt volumes from within libguestfs
This is about Network-Bound Disk Encryption (NBDE) not to be confused
of course with NBD! NBDE is where you use disk encryption in your
virtual machines. But instead of having to type a passphrase when the
guest boots, there is a network server which gives out tokens, so as
long as the guest is booted from the trusted network it is able to
boot unattended.
In RHEL[1] we have three pieces of

Observer best practices
I''ve seen two ways of connecting observers:
1) In the observer class put
observe MyModel
2) In the controller class put
observer :my_observer
What is the difference between these two? Also, is it necessary to put
in the observer class the following?
MyObserver.instance

NT-to-Linux printing stopped working...
Printing seems like a popular subject here lately. ;)
I have an Epson Stylus Color IIs which I had connected to my Linux box.
It was mapped on my NT box, and everything worked fairly well (except
for the print quality--NT drivers for that printer suck). So, I bought
a new printer--an Epson Stylus Color 740. I hooked it up to Linux, made
the necessary changes to /etc/printcap, and printed some

Samba + Cups + Filter Access
Hi,
I'm trying to use Cups + Samba to make a print server for many
purpouses. The main one is to account how many pages where printed by
whom and centralize all printers in one server.
If I configure samba and cups in the RAW mode using windows original
drivers of the printers, everything works fine, but this way I can't use
cups accounting.
So I reinstaled all my printers

profil
Greetings list,
I am about setting up a domain controller in a little company, so I choose
samba (debian lenny) and I did it against openldap. Everything seems to be
ok in the server but when I try to log in (windows client) I have a bizarre
output: it said that my profile will not be saved. And after that when I try
to connect to virtual machine running in the same computer, it doesn't work:

user nobody can print on a non-public printer?
My printing system is working beautifully thanks to SAMBA. Thanks!
Except that 5 times now, user nobody connected to the printer
successfully and printed! User nobody can not log onto the domain.
It seems to happen if you print immediately after you log on. I logged
on as my test user and printed immidiately. The job went through as user
nobody. 5 minutes later I printed again, and that time I

Using printers with SAMBA
Hello,
I have a Linux box with 2 printers attached and 1 scanner. One printer connects with LPT1, the other with USB and the scanner is USB also.
I want to share all these within my local network. For that, I installed Samba.
When I start the Linux box, the parallel printer starts to print rubbish. I supposed that was a problem with the printer itself, but I switched on alone without the printer

PLEASE help with printing problem
I can't seem to find an answer or a workaround, and I've received stoney
silence on this one. There aren't any answers in the archives (well, I
didn't find any in the hours on several days I spent, anyhow). I'm
convinced that I can't be the *only* one with this problem, nor am I
convinced that there is absolutely no one who can help. Please feel
