ads_sasl_spnego_krb5_bind failed: Program lacks supportfor encryption type [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]
Alex, I've been a victim of this since Day 1. After a lot of reading and emailing, it comes down to this. libkrb5-3 version 1.8x by default disallows DES encryption. /etc/krb5.conf can be changed to allow weak encryption, but as it relates to Samba, is only effective in letting the system join the domain. For it's internal functioning, winbind uses an autogenerated krb5.conf that

Windows "Lost connection to MySQL server during query"
With previous versions of active record (prior to version 1.13.2), one could simply comment out the "require ''active_record/vendor/mysql411''" line in mysql_adapter.rb to fix this problem when you weren''t (and/or couldn''t) use the native mysql bindings. However, this line no longer exists, and I''m stuck on getting any sort of applicatino

Problems migrating from Postgres to MySQL
Hello everyone, I''m trying to migrate a working app from Postgres to MySQL, and I''m trying to use a migration to get it done rather than alter all my database table creation scripts to MySQL syntax. I''ve done loads of work with Postgres, but am a real newbie with MySQL... I did a ''rake db_schema_dump'' from my Postgres app, and got a nice looking

MySQL connection problems on Dreamhost
To all fellow Dreamhosters out there... Sometimes my app mysteriously loses its connection to the database, resulting in a big ugly "Application Error (Rails)" page. Usually refreshing the page makes it go away, but not today. :-( In production.log I see this: MysqlError (Lost connection to MySQL server during query): Any idea why this happens? It''s rather intermittent

SAMBA 4 - Remove last Windows DC from Domain
HI, i just played around with Windows 2008 R2 as ADS Server and two SAMBA 4 as additional DCs. Setting up the Samba 4 DCs works fine. Now I wanted to remove the last Windows DC with dcpromo. It fails with the following statement: Der Vorgang konnte nicht durchgef?hrt werden. Fehler: Active Directory konnte keinen anderen Dom?nencontroller f?r die ?bertragung der verbleibenden Daten

Webrick very unstable with MySQL 5.0 on Windows
So, install Ruby and gem and then read the wiki post about getting MySQL working and installed that mysql.so into the right dirs, and actually everything works fine. Except that it''s unstable - after maybe 4 or 5 queries, Webrick will crash with a segmentation fault in basically a random module - never the same spot. Anyone got any suggestions? Is it just the mysql.so - does it need to

Tabs Gems giving headache
I might be a newb or something but when I tried tabs_on_rails gems and other gems, I get a list of links instead of tab links. I followed the tutorial in the wiki and downloaded the gems via a bundler, does anyone know why this is happening? -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Talk"

Compiling mount.cifs on OS X Client 10.3.x and headache
I tried but...I can only see a huge list of warnings and errors :(( Why?? When I compiled Samba on other BSD and SysV operating systems everything worked. I always thought that OS X is *not* a full-compatible BSD system (if you try to compile any tarball of any free software, you have to fight a lot) but now I think I'm pretty sure about it. Is there a solution or not?

The VMWare headache and NUT
I'm having an UPS connected to my ReadyNAS 2100 (running NUT, btw) who is in turn providing iSCSI storage for my two vmware host boxes. The same UPS provides power for those two boxes. I have a proper license, so the vmware vMA 4.1 _CAN_ in theory shut down the hosts (not a read-only connection as you get with the free version), but I'm having issues getting NUT to ... play ball with the

realtime sipusers and rtcachefriends... big headache!!
hi folks, I am using asterisk 1.2.13 (debian etch). My customer's sip accounts are stored in realtime sipusers. I have enabled in sip.conf rtcachefriends=yes and ignoreregexpire=yes Each account has nat=yes Now, I have lot of problems. for example, when I change the 'secret' field of a user in the database, it doesn't get reflected in Asterisk, who is still expecting the old

SAMBA + ACLs + QUOTAs + WINBIND = headache
Hello I'm trying to set up a samba server on linux that will have ACL capability and QUOTA control. I'm working on a customized 2.4.18 kernel patched for EAs and ACLs, and quotas I've also customized a 2.2.3a samba with acls, winbind, quotas... it's working fine from a pure unix point of vue, acl allow fine grained access control, quotas limit use of space, and so on with samba
