Risk Assessment Application
I am going to be developing a Risk Assessment system for a secure
environment whose database will double as an asset management system.
Or at least the Risk Assessment stuff will be an outcropping of the
asset management system.
Has anyone had any experience with this or a similar project?
This is my first attempt at a Rails project after spending a few weeks
reading books and getting a general

Hmisc improveProb() and PredictABEL reclassification () function and continuous NRI
Dear Sirs.
I am working with the R packages Hmisc and PredictABEL to make NRI estimates from my Cox models with and without a specific biomarker.
According to Pencina et al (Statistics in Medicine 2010, DOI: 0.1002/sim.4085 ), a continuous/non-categorical NRI (NRI>0) is to be used when there are no obvious reason to categorize risk, such as the risk of future cardiovascular events in patients

Assessing prediction performance of SVM using e1071 package
Dear R-Users!
I am using the svm function (e1071 package) to classify two groups using a
set of 180 indicator variables. Now I am confused about the cross-validation
procedure.
(A) On one hand I use the setting cross=10 in the svm function to run 10
cross-validation iterations and to get an estimate of the svm's performance
in prediction.
(B) On the other hand most tutorials I found

Prediction in discriminant analysis
Sir,
I am working with multiclass discriminant analysis.(say response variable
has 3classes).In R, using lda(), I get 2 sets of coefficients for the
discriminant function. Now, I want to put a new x-vector(vector of
independent variables) and want to check it corresponds to which class of
y.Is there any formula for doing this? or how can I do this?

logsitic prediction
Dear friends.
I have a paper (details below) examining the risk of renal failure after an
operation. A logistic regression was done, and the coefficients to two
regressors (age and creatinine) plus intercept with standard errors are
given. These coefficients must be dependent in estimation, and when no
details are given, I thought how I could most informatively get an
impression as to how

How to calculate relative risk from GAM model in mgcv package?
Hi R users,I am a beginner in the use of R. I need urgent help for my
thesis study.
<https://stats.stackexchange.com/posts/633206/timeline>
I have daily air pollution parameters PM10, PM2.5 CO, NO2, SO2, and O3. I
also have daily hospital admission numbers. Taking into account the effect
of weekends and holidays, I would like to used generalised additive model

assessing goodness of variance prediction
Dear R-Helpers,
I am looking for ways to assess quality of a predictor of variance of a
random variable. Here a two related, but yet distinct, setups.
1. I observe y_t, t=1,...,T which is normally distributed with unknown
variance v_t (note that the variance is time-dependent). I have two
"predictors" for v_t, dubbed v1_t and v2_t, and I want to tell which
predictor is better. Here

Re : Help on competing risk package cmprsk with time dependent covariate
Hello again,
I m trying to use timereg package as you suggested (R2.7.1 on XP Pro).
here is my script based on the example from timereg for a fine & gray model in which
relt = time to event, rels = status 0/1/2 2=competing, 1=event of interest, 0=censored
random = covariate I want to test
library(timereg)

Help on competing risk package cmprsk with time dependent covariate
Dear R users,
I d like to assess the effect of "treatment" covariate on a disease relapse risk with the package cmprsk.
However, the effect of this covariate on survival is time-dependent
(assessed with cox.zph): no significant effect during the first year of follow-up,
then after 1 year a favorable effect is observed on survival (step
function might be the correct way to say that ?).

Any examples of a frailty model actually used for prediction ?
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for any examples of useful frailty models, in particular any situation in which a cox proportional hazards model with frailty outperforms a regular cox proportional hazards model with respect to prediction of the time to event (or the X-year risk of an event). I have defined my own gamma-frailty cox PH model in R but on my simulated data sample it does not predict any

glm logistic model, prediction intervals on impact af age 60 compared to age 30
Dear R-list.
I have done a logistic glm using Age as explanatory variable for some
allergic event.

Extrapolating Cox predicted risk
Dear all
I generated predicted risk of death for each subject in the study by
means of Cox proportional hazards model at 8 year of follow-up, a time
point at which follow-up was more than 90% complete. It is possible to
extrapolate to 10-year the predicted risk of each subjet by assuming
an exponential distribution?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your consideration.

predict risk (% of death) at a certain time point
Dear all,
Does any one know how to calculate the risk (death rate) at some time point (say 5 yrs) based on Kaplan-Meier curve in coxph model in R? I know how to fit the survival data with coxph. But need to calculate risk at some time point. Many thanks.

parameter assessment in differential equation
Hi,
I'd like to know whether R is capable to assess parameters in a model
describing the kinetic of a pollutant adsorption onto activated carbon.
A common relation is for instance the Adam-Bohart-Thomas' one:
dx/dt = K1 * (qm-x)*C - K2x
where {K1,K2} are the unknown paramters and {qm,C} are known parameters
Of course I get experimental data sets of measured x as a function of time.

Security assessment
Hello,
Has any consideration or work been done to document or perform vulnerability testing for the R packages? In order to bring in software to my environments, I need to research known vulnerabilities (I usually use MITRE's CVE page) and also perform local Fortify and Nessus scans to determine an NVD score. It would be a huge help to have a way to package whatever tools/libraries/etc into

Voice quality assessment in Asterisk
Hi,
How do you typically test voice quality in Asterisk? For example if you like to do load testing, or monitor voice quality and get notified if certain calls had bad quality for proactive maintenance?
Thank you!

Life Cycle Assessment with R.
Hello everyone,
There's something really important about climate change and how many institutions around the globe are looking for softwares solutions in order to achieve they (and everyone) needs to improve life conditions in all the planet.
Currently, they're many comercial softwares working with this important topic named as: "Life Cycle Assesment", monitoring carbon emition,
