New versions of Hmisc and Design on CRAN
New versions of source packages for Hmisc and Design are available from CRAN for R 1.9 on Linux/Unix. Knowing Uwe Ligges, a Windows binary is not far behind. Changelogs are at http://biostat.mc.vanderbilt.edu/twiki/bin/view/Main/ChangelogHmisc and http://biostat.mc.vanderbilt.edu/twiki/bin/view/Main/ChangelogDesign . These versions pass R CMD check for the latest R-devel so I expect they

problem with Hmisc
Dear All, I'm reading Frank Harrell's wonderful Regression Modeling Strategies book and ran into a problem following the example in Chapter 8. I'm working on platform: Ubuntu 8.04 (i486-pc-linux-gnu) R version: 2.7.2 (2008-08-25) and my command sequence was: library(chron) library(Hmisc) load("prostate.sav") describe(prostate) The last command returned the error

trouble with \textless in Hmisc latex() on a drop1 object
Yes, it's homework . . . delete now if desired . . . but I think it is an interesting problem. Running R 2.11.1, LaTeX on WinXP, via Sweave. A drop1() object from a glm() produces, as part of its output, a string that looks like this: <none> The trouble I run into is that running latex() on a drop1() object from glm() produces a string that looks like this in the generated .tex

Latex problem in Hmisc (3.8-1) and Mac Os X with R 2.11.1
Dear all, I did post this more or less identical mail in a follow up to another question I posted, but under another heading. I try again, but now under the correct header. upon running this code (from the Hmisc library-latex function) I believe the call to summary.formula is allright and produces wonderful tables, but the latex command results in a correct formatted table but where all the

R-beta: design && hmisc && CRAN
On Fri, 14 Nov 1997, Jim Lindsey <jlindsey at luc.ac.be> sent an email to r-devel describing his first shot at porting Design and Hmisc to R. A few days later, his port snapshot of Design was uploaded to CRAN's src/contrib/devel area, and has since been available from there. A few weeks ago, Andreas Weingessel <A.Weingessel at ci.tuwien.ac.at> had a look into porting Hmisc to R
