Event sequence analysis
Dear R help,
I am analyzing sequences of events described by time and a unique event tag. And
I am searching for recurring patterns where patterns have to show up in a
certain time window, e.g. 5 or 10 minutes. Of course, inbetween these events
other events may occur.
I have applied basket analysis approaches like apriori or 'frequent item set'
algorithms with interesting results but

Selecting / creating unique colours for behavioural / transitional data
Dear all,
This seems like a simple problem but i've searched the help files and tried
various options but failed, so apologies in advance for asking what i'm sure
is an easy thing to do!
In short, I have displayed behavioural data using the TraMineR package such
that there is a colour change between the transition of behaviours, however,
all the methods that i have used thus far have

parameter "ldap user suffix" ignored?
Hello,
It seems that the smb.conf parameter "ldap user suffix" has no effect
when searching for users.
When searching for a user in the LDAP server samba uses the simple
"ldap suffix" without prepending the "ldap user suffix". But it works
for "ldap group suffix". The description of these two parameters are
similar in the manual for smb.conf.
Here are

avoiding the use of an LDAP entry for the samba domain?
Hello,
- Is there a way to avoid that samba tries to search
for an LDAP record for the domain, and for that matter
to try to add the missing record?
I noticed the following messages in the LDAP server log:
SRCH base="dc=unige,dc=ch" \
scope=2 \
filter="(&(sambaDomainName=VPNGROUP)(objectClass=sambaDomain))" \
attrs="sambaDomainName sambaNextRid

How to use ldapsam backend without storing any user SID?
Hello,
When Samba is configured to use smbpasswd as a backend,
it uses an algorithm to construct SIDs from uid/gids.
The SIDs are not stored anywhere.
But when ldapsam is used as a backend,
without changing anything else to the configuration,
a SID *has to* be stored in the entry of each user.
I don't need nor want that.
- Is it possible to have a LDAP backend but still use
the algorithm to

masking sub-domain in routes?
I have a rails app and a Mephisto CMS instance running on the same
server. Currently I use the CMS to manage help articles related to the
application. Mephisto runs on a sub-domain of the main domain, think
articles.mydomain.com.
I''d like my routes to work like this:
http://www.mydomain.com/help => http://articles.mydomain.com/help
/help in my app would point to the appropriate

Apache+mod_proxy_balancer+Mongrel+Mephisto, Apache kills CPU
Our Mephisto install kills Mongrels and causes Apache to pound the
CPU. This started when we moved to Apache+mod_proxy_balancer+Mongrel.
Here''s what we know:
The following things are working OK, except when used in the
combination listed above: mongrel, mongrel_rails, MySQL, Apache,
mod_proxy_balancer. We believe these are all OK because we moved five
other Rails apps to this

Mongrel with mephisto on a Virtual Private Server
Hello everyone,
I am trying to setup Mongrel to work with Apache on a VPS as part of a mephisto installation. Has anyone done this, and if so how did you edit your conf file to make it work?
I used the info found on the mongrel site at:
http://mongrel.rubyforge.org/docs/apache.html<http://mongrel.rubyforge.org/docs/apache.html>
and one time I did get a mephisto splash screen, but it was
