cannot use package RcmdrPlugin.plotByGroup
Dear Lu Wei,
I'm the author of the Rcmdr package but not of RcmdrPlugin.plotByGroup, so if there really is a problem -- which isn't apparent from your message -- then you may wish to contact the package author.
First, as a general matter, menu items in the Rcmdr are grayed out if they're inappropriate in the current context. Rcmdr plug-in authors can use the same mechanism. So, for

Rcmdr 1.3-0 and RcmdrPlugins.TeachingDemos
I'd like to announce a new version, 1.3-0, of the Rcmdr package. The Rcmdr
package provides a basic-statistics graphical user interface (GUI) to R.
Beyond small changes and additions, this new version of the package makes
provision for "plug-ins" that permit extension of the Rcmdr GUI without
altering and rebuilding the Rcmdr source package or modifying the installed
package. An R

Function unfold package RcmdrPlugin.survival
Dear all,
I am using the function ?unfold? from the ?RcmdrPlugin.survival? to convert
my time-varying covariates dataset from wide to long. I managed to have it
working for my data.
However, the problem I have is that the observations after an event, won?t
be dropped from the dataset. For example, see the dataframe below: the event
occurs at 1.2 (event.time=1), but the 1.3 to 1.6 will remain in

cannot use package RcmdrPlugin.plotByGroup
Greetings,
I am a new use of R, starting from R-commander.
I find that the default quantile-comparison (Q-Q plot) of R-commander
has no group option, and I happened to notice RcmdrPlugin.plotByGroup in
the packages list. As the name is so explicit, I installed it, loaded
it, R-commander restarted, but the 3 menu item under Graphs->plot by
group are all greyed out. What could be wrong?

Internationalized version of the Rcmdr package
Dear R-packages list members,
I've recently uploaded to CRAN version 1.1-1 of the Rcmdr ("R Commander")
package. Based on the tcltk package, the Rcmdr provides a basic-statistics
graphical interface to R.
The general functionality of the R Commander has not changed much since
version 1.0-0. There are some small improvements to the package, but the
reason that I'm re-announcing

odfWeave UTF-8 error and latin characters
Hello R masters,
I have sent this same message to other lists and none so far could give some
light. I was trying to use odfWeave to generate a report from R and Im
getting an error that I think is related to latin characters. I looked
around and did find some stuff related to this problem about Sweave

Meta-Analysis of proportions
Dear colleagues,
I'm conducting a meta-analysis of studies evaluating adherence of HIV-positive drug users into AIDS treatment, therefore I'm looking for some advice and syntax suggestion for running the meta-regression using proportions, not the usual OR/RR frequently used on RCT studies.
Have already searched already several handbooks, R-manuals, mailing lists, professors, but... not

Graphical User Interface (GUI)
Dear vthokienj,
One approach would be to write a plug-in package for the Rcmdr package. An
advantage is that data input (at least of rectangular data sets), data
management, etc., are already taken care of. There are about 40 such
plug-ins currently on CRAN, most with names beginning with "RcmdrPlugin.".
The GUI toolkit that's used is Tcl/Tk and the tcltk package is part of the

function prop.trend.test (stats)
To the R-help list,
In the documentation of the prop.trend.test function in the
stats package, no bibliography has been provided which
would allow one to find out the theoretical basis of that
function and/or details of its implementation.
May I suggest that some bibliography be included, as it
generally happens with other statistical functions.
I currently use R 2.8.0 running on Windows XP.
