Rcmdr plugins produce error
I recently updated all my plugins, and for the fun of it, I added ALL the Rcmdr Plugins to my collection to see what functionality might exist. I started Rcmdr and loaded ALL the available Plugins from to the Rcdmdr Tools menu.
To my suprise Rcmdr produced a number of warnings and finally an error. The error suggests that some of the extensions are incompatable with each other because of menu

Writing Rcmdr Plugins
Dear all,
I am trying to write a plugin for the RCommander and having troubles
understanding how to actually do that. I have read Mr. Fox's tutorial
about writing Rcmdr plugins and though.... it seems to me that some
steps are missing. I would like to know, whether there are some
Commands which generate a plugin package out of a given library. Or do
we just have to attach the .First.lib

cannot use package RcmdrPlugin.plotByGroup
Dear Lu Wei,
I'm the author of the Rcmdr package but not of RcmdrPlugin.plotByGroup, so if there really is a problem -- which isn't apparent from your message -- then you may wish to contact the package author.
First, as a general matter, menu items in the Rcmdr are grayed out if they're inappropriate in the current context. Rcmdr plug-in authors can use the same mechanism. So, for

new cross-platform basic-statistics GUI
Dear R-announce list members,
I've submitted a new package to CRAN, Rcmdr, which provides a
cross-platform basic-statistics GUI for R. Rcmdr is based on the tcltk
package and uses only standard Tk widgets. It therefore runs under Windows
if Tcl/Tk support is installed with R, although it requires the
single-document interface (SDI). I've tested Rcmdr with Windows and Red Hat
Linux;

Compiled Rcmdr Plugin package (zip) has no etc/menus.txt
Dear Rcmdr users,
I use R-2.9.2, Rcmdr 1.5-1 and the latest Rtools bundle (and the html help
workshop) under Windows XP. I wrote a RcmdrPlugin for some important
functions of Thomas Lumley's "survey" package.
Problem: Package compilation works without displaying any errors. That is
1) "R CMD build ..." works fine.
2) "R CMD INSTALL --build..." generates the

Sys.glob() doesn't handle a UNC windows path beginning with backslashes
Hi,
Back in 2010 I had a problem with 'update.packages()', which I worked around
by mapping a drive letter to a UNC path [described in
<http://finzi.psych.upenn.edu/Rhelp10/2010-February/229820.html> but my
current workaround is
assign(".lib.loc", sub("\\\\\\\\Server02/stats", "L:", .libPaths(),
ignore.case = TRUE), env=environment(.libPaths))].

Rcmdr window border lost
Dear Andy and Peter,
My apologies for chiming in so late, but I was out of town and just caught
up with R-help today (and an impressive amount of material accumulates on
R-help in a couple of weeks!).
Although I develop the Rcmdr package on a Windows system, I test it under
Linux as well -- most recently on Ubuntu 7.04 with R 2.5.0. Curiously, the
windows for Rcmdr 1.3-5 look normal to me, as I

problem with fix() called from Rcmdr
Dear list members,
I and my students have encountered an intermittent problem using the Rcmdr
package (version 0.9-0) under Windows (with the SDI). The problem occurs
both in versions 1.7.1 and 1.8.0 of R.
The problem seems to occur only in the following context: The "Edit data
set" button is pressed in the Rcmdr GUI. This executes the fix() function
on the active data frame,

Internationalized version of the Rcmdr package
Dear R-packages list members,
I've recently uploaded to CRAN version 1.1-1 of the Rcmdr ("R Commander")

graphical interface to R.
The general functionality of the R Commander has not changed much since
version 1.0-0. There are some small improvements to the package, but the

UNC windows path beginning with backslashes: normalizePath bug??
Hi,
Back in June I posted the message below, but had no replies. I've made a
little progress since then so this is to update anyone interested (!) and to
ask for comments.
Brief problem statement:
Under Windows, some parts of R don't handle UNC paths beginning with
backslashes. Specifically
a) Sys.glob() fails to find some files breaking (e.g.) Rcmdr plugins
