request of information about creating DLL from R to be used in other languages/programs
Hello
My question is the following. I have tried to find a similar subject in
archives but not found (perhaps bad search!) and I tried R-help and I was
advised that R-devel would perhaps better for my question
So I wonder if it is possible to create a dll from a R code to use it in
another language/program.
Indeed, one of my colleague wrote a R code combining some R functions to
create a

test for factor effect with nested glm
Dear all,
I use a nested design with lm and glm, with factor2 nested within
factor1. In order to test for the significance of both factors, I use
anova tables on the obtained models such as follows:
/> mod1<-lm(A~factor1/factor2)
> amod1<-anova(mod1, test="F")
Analysis of Variance Table
Response: A

lmer: random factor nested in a fixed factor
Hi all,
I try to build a model using lmer, with 2 crossed fixed factors (poptype
and matingtype) and 2 random factors (pop and family) which I want to
nest within poptype. Which of these formulae should I use ?
1. lmer(y~poptype*matingtype + (1|poptype/pop/fam))
2. lmer(y~poptype*matingtype + (poptype|/pop/fam))
thanks in advance

change the "coeffcients approach" on an anova
hi everybody
I have to do a lot of Anova with R and I would like to have another type of
coefficients coding.. I explain.
by default if I have 2 temperatures for an experience. 100°C or 130°C and I
want to see the temperature effect on the presure
I want to estimate the coefficient of each temperature.
I will obtain ,with the anova, juste one coefficients for example +3,56 (for
100°C), and the

"Use R" -- term and logo copyright?
Dear list,
I would like to start some R workshops at King's College London, and
to do so, I would like to use the "Use R!" logo at

Since it seems to be difficult to get a shell account at KCL, I also went
ahead and registered use-r.org.uk and am starting to put together a

continue a loop after an error with confint
Hi all,
I've got a list (Reg3Lst) with 1000 nls regression results in it.
I'd like to get the confidence interval of the parameters obtained with the
nonlinear regressions. Thus I've used this:
for (i in 1:1000)
{
foo<-list(foo,confint(Reg3Lst[[i]]))
}
For some regressions the confidence interval is not estimated because of a
singular gradient result. Then it

curve from a formula with ggplot2
Hi all,
I'm smoothly transferring my lattice graphs to ggplot2 graphs, but I'm stuck
on representing a curve from a formula.
I'm looking for the equivalent of curve() in ggplot2, Hadley Wickham
mentions geom_curve, but as far as I've seen in the help it doesn't exist.
My need is to plot a regular scatter plot of experimental data (easy to do
actually) and then add the

text in graph with expression
Hi all,
I'm using 'expression' in the axes labels in graphs to get the greek letters
(ylab), as follows:
plot(
layer_1$U0
,layer_1$dP/(H1.Theo)
#,ylim=c(0,100)
,xlim=c(0,1.1)
#,main="Pressure Drop",
,xlab=expression(U[0]~(Nm/s))
,ylab=expression(Delta~P~(Pa/m))
,col=2
,pch=16
,cex=1.5)
I just need to know how to avoid the use of a space (~) between the greek

grid lines aligned on each ticks with a log scale
Hi all,
for publication purpose I must provide a graph with grid lines aligned with
each tick mark.
Thing is that the graph has a log scale on the x-axis.
I looked at the grid() and par() documentation but still don't figure out
how to get it done.
simple example
plot(seq(1,9), log="x", panel.first=grid())
how to get lines at x = 2 and 5 on the graph?
Of course the option

tweak a bit the legend wiht ggplot2
Hi all,
I've this ggplot2 graph
(http://www.4shared.com/file/120101043/f3e9350/isotherm.html).
I'd like to tweak the legend for the adsorbent part. I'd like to have full
square of the colors instead of the full circles.
I guess that I've to work on the scale_color_hue or fill somewhere but I
haven't found my way yet.
Here is my code to get the graph:

ggplot2: geom_smooth and legend
Hi all,
Is that possible to remove the grey colour in the legend key that goes
with the geom_smooth? In my case it doesn't ease the reading of the
legend.

create list of data frames
Hi all,
I need to realize nonlinear regression on a thousand data sets. I guess the
lapply function would help me on that thus I'd like to create a list of data
frames, each data frame containing the data as follows:
