R-2.3.1 --enable-R-shlib
Hi, I've upgraded our server to the latest R version, everything went ok until I wanted to install RServe for our java clients. RServe needs the shared library which can be compiled using configure --enable-R-shlib. All went ok but after running make I got this error: gcc -shared -L/usr/local/lib64 -o libR.so Rembedded.o CConverters.o CommandLineArgs.o Rdynload.o Renviron.o RNG.o apply.o

Possible Minor bug found in current 2.3.1 release of icecast2
I am new to your lists but I have found something in icecast 2.3.1 that may need further review. there is a segfault when you have a failover mount point and the failover mount is using ezstream and you restart ices-2.x and the clients fail back. found via gdb. Very short diff to format.c line 104 below. diff -urNab icecast-2.3.1.orig/src/format.c icecast-2.3.1/src/format.c ---

glmmPQL in 2.3.1
I have come across the previous communication on this list in September (copied below) because I had received the same error message. I understand from Brian Ripley's reply that anova should not be used with glmmPQL because it is not an adequate method, and that this is now shown with an error message. My question is, what method *should* be used? Using summary does not give me the result

2.3.1: interacting bugs in load() and gzfile() (PR#9271)
Hello, If repeated calls are made to save() using the same pre-opened gzfile connection to a file, and then the connection is closed, the objects saved by the second and subsequent calls are not correctly restored by repeated calls to load() with a new gzfile connection to the same file. What follows are a session exposing the bugs, analysis (see ANALYSIS), patches (see PATCHES), and a session

Problems Building R-2.3.1 on Alpha server ES40 running Tru64 V5.1B PK#5
R Listers, One of the list contributors suggested I abandon attempts to build R-1.9.1 and focus on building R-2.3.1. I believe the main set of packages have been built properly (with some changes to the code) - however, when building the Recommended packages, the build fails. CODE CHANGES: ============= 1. My C compiler requires a ";" on line 589 of ..../src/main/printutils.c. Here

2.3.1 Replication is throwing scary errors
Hey all, almost 48h ago I upgraded both my instances to 2.3.1 again to see if the new patches would fix the replication issues for me. So far, the result is: great. I haven't been able to provoke any kind of I/O stall or persisting queued/failed resync requests in my replication setup. Newly added users are replicated instantly upon the first received mails and the home directory gets

compiling 2.3.1
I'm trying to get icecast 2.3.1 compiled on a slackware 10.0 box. I've successfully compiled the libshout libraries. Now this is what I got after a make in the source dir: > make[3]: Entering directory `/tar_archive/icecast-2.3.1/src' > /bin/sh ../libtool --mode=link gcc -pthread -g -O2 -L/usr/local/lib > -o icecast cfgfile.o main.o logging.o sighandler.o connection.o

glmmPQL in 2.3.1
Dear R-help, I recently tried implementing glmmPQL in 2.3.1, and I discovered a few differences as compared to 2.2.1. I am fitting a regression with fixed and random effects with Gamma error structure. First, 2.3.1 gives different estimates than 2.2.1, and 2.3.1, takes more iterations to converge. Second, when I try using the anova function it says, "'anova' is not available

libshout-2.3.1 release with Opus support
All, I've made a new release of libshout. Greg Maxwell contributed support for the Opus audio codec (opus-codec.org). Tested with gstreamer and oggfwd as source clients, and playback with Firefox Nightly and 'curl | opusdec'. Thanks, Greg. There are no other updates; in particular webm streaming still requires the caller limit the send rate. The source package is available: -
