RE: Initial release of RSOAP - a simple interface to R via SOAP
The second URL in the previous message is incorrect, it should be
http://software.biostat.washington.edu/statsoft/snake/RSOAP,
i.e. omit the final '/manage'.

R Included with Open Infrastructure for Outcomes (OIO) system
Hi all,
I came across this article on LinuxMedNews (http://www.linuxmednews.com)
this morning:
http://www.linuxmednews.com/linuxmednews/1076524250/index_html
This refers to an integrated data management and analysis system (OIO),
which includes R and utilizes the RSessionDA package (Greg Warnes).

comma-delimited text files (.csv) using the Perl Spreadsheet::ParseExcel
module.
Usage

Mature SOAP Interface for R
Hello, we are writing rich internet user interfaces and like to call R
for some of the computational needs on the data, as well as some
creation of image files. Our objects communicate via the SOAP
interface. We have been researching the various packages to expose R as
a SOAP service.
No current CRAN SOAP packages however.

Using R to send to SOAP server?
I have an R process continuously monitoring a data stream. When the
data meet certain criteria, I need to send a message to a SOAP server.
Currently I'm doing this by making a system() call to execute a perl
script, passing the message as an argument to the perl script.
I'm wondering if it can be done directly by R, and if so, whether
there might be any performance benefit.
I've

RMySQL crashes R
I have justed upgraded R v1.7.0 on Windows NT 4 and have installed the
latest RMySQL (version 0.5-1)and DBI (version 0.1-5) packages.
When I issue the following commands (tactfully adjusted) R just crashes and
disappears, any ideas?
require(RMySQL)
m <- dbDriver("MySQL")
con <- dbConnect(m, dbname="xxx", user="xxx", password="xxx",

Interest in commercial support for R, R-metrics and relat ed packages
Spotfire communicates with R and S-PLUS via SOAP (in R's case, via Greg
Warnes' RSOAP server). I would guess that `linking' at that level with GPL
software does not make the code on the Spotfire side GPL. The two systems
don't even have to live on the same computer (and most likely, don't).
Just my $0.02...

accessing a SOAP based web service from R
Hi,
I have a number of web services that run on a server and can be
accessed via SOAP as well as by creating a specific URL.
Now, for certain services, the argument that I need to send is about 10
to 20 characters and the URL approach works fine. However if the
argument is a few kilobytes I would rather create a SOAP packet and send
that off.
So my first question is: is there a package that

writing a package, so the error may be very obvious for you. Forgive me if
it is too easy.
My package name is *stam*, and i put it under the folder
"D:/StatSoft/R/MyPackage/". I have two folders,*R* and *man*. Besides, i
