Fortran subroutines dblepr, realpr, intpr
I am making my first attempts at using some Fortran code with R, and so far it's going OK. To print from my Fortran programs, it seems I need subroutines dblepr, realpr and intpr. From the excellent "Writing R Extensions" document: "Three subroutines are provided to ease the output of information from FORTRAN code. subroutine dblepr(label, nchar, data, ndata)

How to call DBLEPR in Fortran code to be used by R
Hi I've built a dll using Fortran code and can call it by either R or Fortran. Calling by the former gives me the wrong answer and the later gives the correct answer. From what I've read, it looks like I should use the subroutines DBLEPR, INTPR and REALPR to get values to show up in R which I hope will allow me to find the error. I've downloaded the R-2.12.0.tar.gz but have

How to specify compiler options when using R CMD SHLIB
Hi I've built a dll using Fortran code and can call it by either R or Fortran. Calling by the former gives me the wrong answer and the later gives the correct answer. >From what I've read, it looks like I should use the subroutines DBLEPR, INTPR and REALPR to print to the R console rather than using Fortran standard I/O and that if I use the command R CMD SHLIB source.f that these

locfit questions/problems
Hi, I'm trying to work through the examples and code in Loader's LOCAL REGRESSION AND LIKELIHOOD, and have run into a problem with the code for one sided smoothing and change point analysis (p. 110-112). The code, after loading locfit: midp<-(1945:1988)+0.5 fitl<-locfit(thickness~left(year), data=penny, alpha=c(0,10), deg=1, ev=midp)

Samba 3.0.4 Performance Problem (tcp win 1)
Howdy. I have observed a horrific performance problem in my setup. I'm running samba on a Linux Fedora Core 1 machine with Windows clients. The samba server is communicating with a Windows 98 machine. $ /usr/sbin/smbd -V Version 3.0.4-1.FC1 The configuration of my server is mostly default with the exception of print, passwords, and share configurations. My Linux interface is seeing about

documentation bugs (cvs) (PR#5543)
Hi, Below I've flagged some sentences in the R documentation (from cvs) which are garbled in some way. If anyone can clarify what these sentences should say I'd be grateful. The problems were picked up as part of the proof-reading of the R manuals by Ciaran O'Riordan. After looking at the text neither of us could figure out what the documentation was meant to say. -- Brian Gough

DBLEPR?
Ravi Varadhan and I have been looking at UCMINF to try to identify why it gives occasional (but not reproducible) errors, seemingly on Windows only. There is some suspicion that its use of DBLEPR for finessing the Fortran WRITE() statements may be to blame. While I can find DBLEPR in Venables and Ripley, it doesn't get much mention after about 2000 in the archives, though it is in the R FAQ

barplot and pca plot in mvpart/rpart
Hello, I'm using the R package called mvpart, which is about the multivariate regression trees. The function I wrote is: mrt1<- mvpart(coefmat~sChip+sScreen+sMem,data=mixdata, xv="pick", plot.add=TRUE,uniform=TRUE,which=4,all=TRUE,xadj=2,yadj=2,rsq=TRUE,big.pts=TRUE,wgt.ave.pca=TRUE,legend=TRUE,bars=F, pca=TRUE) where "coefmat" is a matrix(of dimension N*K) to store

plot gam "main effect functions" in one graph
Dear R users, I have a question about the plot with the package gam. I need to plot different main effect functions, related to different gam models, in the same graphics (i.e. the same covariate about different models). I used the plot.gam e preplot.gam documentations. Using preplot.gam I can plot the single function but I'm not able to put all the functions together. Does anybody can help

Plotting survival curves after multiple imputation
I am working with some survival data with missing values. I am using the mice package to do multiple imputation. I have found code in this thread which handles pooling of the MI results: https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-help/2007-May/132180.html Now I would like to plot a survival curve using the pooled results. Here is a reproducible example: require(survival) require(mice) set.seed(2) dt

passing an extra argument to an S3 generic
I'm trying to write some functions extending influence measures to multivariate linear models and also allow subsets of size m>=1 to be considered for deletion diagnostics. I'd like these to work roughly parallel to those functions for the univariate lm where only single case deletion (m=1) diagnostics are considered. Corresponding to stats::hatvalues.lm, the S3 method for class
