[OT] new R logo in vector graphics format
L.S. Since some time there is a new r-project.org site as announced here: https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-announce/2015/000581.html The logo has changed on the site, but I fail to find a vector graphics file. For the previous logo I used to go to https://svn.r-project.org/R-dev-web/trunk/Logo/ Is there anything similar for the new logo? Many thanks in advance. Kind regards, Tobias --

regenerate Rscript after moving R installation
L.S. In this bug report https://bugs.r-project.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=14493#c1 it is mentioned that after moving an R installation one should regenerate the Rscript executable. Is there an easy way to do so (after an R installation has been moved)? I have not found any information in the R installation and administration manual. Many thanks in advance for any pointer. Best wishes,

Programming Tools CTV
Dear Willem, Personally, I use the R-forge project for the distribution CTV : https://r-forge.r-project.org/projects/ctv/ It?s an alternative option to github. Programming Tools CTV
Hi Willem thanks for volounteering. To the best of my knowledge (regarding the machinery side), if you're planning to use github (and maybe even if you don't) you can "stole" ideas from https://github.com/ropensci/webservices https://github.com/lbraglia/PackageDevelopmentTaskView (minor modifications from webservices) https://github.com/eddelbuettel/ctv-finance or

Programming Tools CTV
I'd strongly second the notion of using github. The biggest advantage is that others can easily contribute changes through pull requests which lifts much of the burden from your shoulders. how to obtain the CPU time of my program
Dear R users and experts, I am current running a program (a series of commands) in R. such as: A <- as.matrix(read.table("C:/LP.txt")); a=which(memb==q); b=a; B=as.matrix(A[a,b]) LS=sum(B)/2; TL=sum(A)/2 i<-c(1:NN); D=sum(A[a,i]); how can i obtain the CPU time used for these commands ? I have seen the system.time function but i am not sure how to use it. Could anyone help

Engelmann AudioJack
Recently I've started to see quite a few clients connecting with Engelmann AudioJack ('Engelmann Media Radio Listener' is the browser ID): http://www.audiojack.org/?file=Index&lang=english Anybody else seeing quite a few of these clients all of a sudden? I don't have a windows box to try this software on, but from their website it looks like something equivalent to the XM

S4 slot with NA default
Hi How do I specify an S4 class with a slot that is potentially numeric, but NA by default? I want the slot to be NA until I calculate its value (an expensive operation, not needed for all applications). When its value is known, I will create a new object with the correct value inserted in the slot. I want "NA" to signify "not known". My attempt fails because

Programming Tools CTV
Hi all, Sorry if this doesn't end up in the thread. Tobias Verbeke forwarded that e-mail to me, because he thought I would be interested in maintaining the Programming Tools CTV. I wasn't subscribed to R-devel yet, but I would indeed like to volunteer to maintain the Programming Tools CTV. It will be my first time creating a CTV, so some guidance on getting it setup will be appreciated.

consolidate legends in ggplot2
Hello, the same parameter for colour and shape aesthetics gives 2 legends: library(ggplot2) p <- ggplot(mtcars, aes(x=wt, y=mpg)) p + geom_point(aes(colour=factor(cyl), shape=factor(cyl))) Can the 2 legends be consolidated to one with colours and shapes of the symbols matched between legend and plot ? 'libRblas.so' missing in R 2.12.1
Dear R developers, I just compiled the latest version of R (2.12.1) and noticed that 'libRblas.so' is missing in the '/x86_64/src/extra/blas' subdirectory of my R-installation. Did I miss ongoing discussions on the Mailinglist about this or might it be a local problem? Thanks for this brilliant software. Best Christian -- Christian Kohler Institute of Functional Genomics ~

So that if x=dictionary(c("a","b"),c(5,2)) x val 1 a 5 2 b 2 I want to compute

Density estimate with bounds
Dear R users, I would like to show the estimated density of a (0, 1) uniformly distributed random variable. The density curve, however, goes beyond 0 and 1 because of the kernel smoothing. Example: x = runif(10000) plot(density(x)) Is there a way to estimate the density curve strictly within (0, 1) and still use some sort of smoothing? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Best regards,

Software FAX Modem--One Last Request For Help
Here's one last plea for help from the list before I give up on the totally cool software FAX modem concept in complete despair (for now, at least, until I have more time to dig into it).... I am simply not able to successfully receive a FAX no matter what device I transmit from or how I bring the call into Asterisk. My lastest effort was a call from a Pitney-Bowes FAX machine into an X100P
