How to pass a collection to paginate?
There must be a better way to write this code: @project_pages, @projects= paginate :project, :per_page => 10, :conditions => ["account_id = ?", account] ?! If only I could pass the sub-collection account = ... @projects = account.project to paginate, instead of letting it extract it with a find :all + sql conditions Alain. -- Posted via

Determining Browser?
Is there a way I can read the user agent or something similar to determine whether the person is using IE, Mozilla/Netscape, Opera, Safari, etc? I want to dynamically output the CSS to the browser, but I''d like to change certain things (in this case the widths of some divs since IE adds borders and padding size to the total size of a div unlike firefox). Thanks, - Brent

Class Caching Problem [was Newbie Question about Custom Classes]
So any other ideas as to why my custom class under app/models is being cached even though all the caching is set to false in the config/environments/* files? Currently I''m having to restart WEBrick after EVERY change to the file. The controllers and views are reloading just fine and not being cached. It''s just the custom class I created that''s being cached. Any ideas

Complex SQL in paginate command?
Hi all, Is there a way to create pagination with a complex SQL, more complex than the :conditions option will support? I have two databases, houses and images. Houses has_many images, and each Image belongs_to house. I''m creating a search engine for the house records and I''d like to be able to filter out all the houses without any associated images. Global Method Declaration?
Is there a place where I can put a method that can be accessed in both views and controllers? Here''s the situation, maybe someone can suggest a better way to go about this: I created my own custom login system with email verification and user roles (basically, I tinkered around with SaltedHashLoginGenerator until I finally gave up and wrote my own). One role, of course, is an admin

Pagination Question
Hi - I''ve just started working with Rails, having come from a Cold Fusion background. I''m curious how best to deal with a huge result set. For example, I''m building an app that contains users. I''ve used scaffolding to setup my initial pages for CRUD operations on users. All that is great. The problem is, I''m going to end up with 1000+ users in
