Summary: Identifying graphics files produced by R
Thanks to all those that responded to the question below, either on-list or
privately. The bottom line is that there's no identifying information from
R in the metadata for PNG or JPG files (and R doesn't produce GIFs). I did
however figure out a way to automate a search for PDF and PostScript files
produced by R, and the details are here:

Identifying graphics files produced by R
Oftentimes, I see graphs on the web that *look* like they've been
produced by R, but I can never be sure. Or can I? I notice that

revolution mkl with R 3.01 on Ubuntu 13.04
So I have two Dell power-edge machines running latest Ubuntu (13.04)
with latest version of R (3.01). I installed revolution-mkl on one
machine (T-410) and it works fine. On the second machine (T-620), it
says the latest version of revolution-mkl is installed, but I'm getting
no multi-processor functioning (R-benchmark-25.R) runs on a single
processor and takes same amount of time
