multcomp: contrasts for count data
Hi, I would like to derive p-values for pair-wise comparison (Tukey's) of effects when the response is a count. I am trying a test case where y ~ Po( lambda(x) ). x has three levels : A, B and C with lambda(x) = 10, 20 and 20 respectively. Hence, p-values for the contrast C - B should distribute uniformally. I have implemented this test case as below but do not get uniform

books on Time serie
A time series text with a title that seems designed to hide its wide scope is: Forecasting with Exponential Smoothing The State Space Approach Hyndman, R.J., Koehler, A.B., Ord, J.K., Snyder, R.D. Springer 2009. This book is actually an excellent overview of time series theory, ARIMA as well as state space. It is of course, in part, a manual for the forecast and other packages in what has been

A different error in sample()
Besides wording of the documentation re truncating vs rounding, there is something peculiar going on with the fractional part of n: > table(sample.int(2.5, 1e6, replace = TRUE)) 1 2 3 399051 401035 199914 > table(sample.int(3, 1e6, replace = TRUE)) 1 2 3 332956 332561 334483 > table(sample.int(2.01, 1e6, replace = TRUE)) 1 2 3

A different error in sample()
FWIW, I suspect this is related to the function R_unif_index that was introduced in src/main/RNG.c around revision 72356, or the way this function is used in do_sample in src/main/random.c. 20.9.18 08:19, Wolfgang Huber scripsit: > Besides wording of the documentation re truncating vs rounding, there is > something peculiar going on with the fractional part of n: > > >

R not responding (must force quit) when saving graphic to PDF (bug?)
Dear Neil Have you tried with completely uninstalling your R, and reinstalling a more recent version (e.g. 3.2.4 right now). And then the same with your operating system - OS X is currently at 10.11.4. There is likely not much interest (or benefit) in chasing such things in obsolete versions. And I think R-help would be the more appropriate place for this kind of question. Wolfgang > On Apr

'Dynamic' 3D plot
Hi, I am looking for a R package to draw 3d plot. But not in a static way like scatterplot3d or stuff like that. I would like to make rotate the plot, to zoom/unzoom etc..., actually to render the graph 'dynamic'... (for the biologist and bioinformatician, a R package which permitts to reproduce what pdb viewer does). Does a Way exist to do something like that in R ? Thanks,

R not responding (must force quit) when saving graphic to PDF (bug?)
Dear Wolfgang, Thanks for your response. No, I haven't tried doing the complete reinstallation as you suggest. If I recall correctly, this has happened on previous occasions but like I said in my email it's not all that disruptive to my workflow. It's more like a 'first world problem'. I was encouraged to submit the query because I had correspondence with someone involved
