XCP 1.1 SR_BACKEND_FAILURE_46 The VDI is not available [opterr=VDI already attached RW] issue
Hello
I have a problem with VDI already attached RW in the "adding tag" in
blktap2. This issue is on all hosts in pool with attached lvmoiscsi SR.
Is there any solution to this problem?

XCP Debi an - ISCSI support?
I have Kronos setup fine. I have installed open-iscsi and setup the system
as an initiator. However, I cannot seem to get xapi to allow me to setup the
target as an SR. I was trying to use XenCenter but go nowhere. So I tried
adding it manually and here is what I got:
xe sr-create host-uuid=466aac75-c86a-496f-90e8-2a9925a9e9f7

Open3 progress
Hi all,
I''ve got an initial version of Open3.popen3 checked into CVS, along with a
test suite, a sample program and some of the usual files (README, etc).
This is just Park''s win32_popen package stripped down and modified to match
the Open3 API.
So far, so good. For the first release, I''ve decided that we should strip
it down to popen3 only. We can always add

Controlling smbclient from python weirdness
I've written a python wrapper around the smbclient program, so that I
can list/upload/download from Windows shares.
Using smbclient 2.0.9 or Version 2.2.5-2 for Debian, my wrapper works
well and is able to control the smbclient process via pipes well. With
both smbclient 2.999+3.0cvs20020723-1 and 2.999+3.0.alpha20-3 (on a
Debian box) the smbclient responses appear to be not always BEFORE the

Bug#687319: xcp-storage-managers: CDROM VDIs don't hotplug in guests because ISO SRs are misconfigured
Package: xcp-storage-managers
Version: 0.1.1-2ubuntu1
Severity: normal
This bug prevents CDROM VDIs from being hotplugged into guest
VMs. The issue is that the NFS ISO SR configures the ISO VDIs to
be 'file' types, which it should configure them to by 'phy'
types. This breaks on Debian's Xen because the Debian hotplug
scripts are more robuse than the ones on XenServer, and

[Fwd: Re: [Xen-devel] Xen 4.0 in debian packages?]
Hi there,
It is my understanding that blktap2 has been removed from the built of
xen-hypervisor-{i386|amd64} because of the OpenSSL licensing and its
incompatibility with the GPL, but apparently it is possible to not use
OpenSSL at all.
What is your thoughts about this? Could blktap2 support be added? Should
it be packaged separately and be sent to non-free?

[PATCH] vhd-util create: add -C|nocow option
Add ''-C'' (nocow) option to vhd-util create.
Btrfs has terrible performance when hosting VM images, even more when the guest
in those VM are also using btrfs as file system. One way to mitigate this bad
performance is to turn off COW attributes on VM files (since having copy on
write for this kind of data is not useful). According to ''chattr'' manpage, NOCOW

Xen 4.0.1, tap vs tap2, blktap2 documentation, and gentoo-xen-kernel problem
Hi,
I''ve been testing Xen 4.0.1 with kernel 2.6.34.5 +
http://gentoo-xen-kernel.googlecode.com/files/xen-patches-2.6.34-4.tar.bz2,
and one of the things that I noticed immediately is there are two
problems with tapdisk and this combination.
First, the syntax "disk = [''tap:tapdisk:aio: ..." no longer works.
When tested with HVM domU, it boots, but there was no disk
