easiest way to create DomU
Hello community, I''ve already installed Xen hypervisor over CentOS 6.0. I am wondering where can I obtain some patched guest OS kernels to get start. It seems that under PV mode, guest kernel needs to be modified (correct me if I am wrong). I am a newbie and have no previous experiences on Xen so any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks, -- Su

Lyrics stored in .ogg files?
Hi, I've heard somewhere that it is possible to store inside .ogg files text streams and thus it should be possible to store lyrics for the sond directly in the file. Is it true? Could anybody point me towards some code how to do it (Python preferable, but not required)? Is there any documentation for text streams in .ogg files? Thanks for any reply, Mat?j -- GPG Finger: 89EF 4BC6 288A

Separate kernel on domU's
Hello, I am still learning about Xen.. I am trying to setup Xen hypervisor for the first time. I was reading the howto here: http://www.howtoforge.com/paravirtualization-with-xen-4.0-on-debian-squeeze-amd64 and I stopped here: "(To use the default Ubuntu kernel instead of Debian''s Xen kernel in the guest, you can also comment out the kernel and initrd lines in

Q: Tool to copy Vorbis comments to MP3 ID tags
Hi, I'm wondering: If you have audio files like foo1.ogg and foo1.mp3, and the Vorbis file has nice comments (title, tracknumber, artist, album, date, etc), is there a tool to copy the information to an MP3 file on a "best effort" strategy? I know that MP3 TAGs are quite limited regarding lengths. Regards, Ulrich

HVM --> PV, success on 1st time, failed on 2nd time
Hello list, I''m having a perplexing problem. I''m currently trying to install Gentoo Linux on XenServer 5.6 fp1. When I''ve compiled the kernel, I shutdown, eject CD, activate PV mode, and turn on. It worked, except for the fact that I forgot to change the entries in /etc/fstab to point to /dev/xvd?. So I shutdown, change back to HVM, and reboot into Gentoo''s

Huge difference btw system time and elapsed time
Hi all, I got this time for my code, > proc.time()-pt user system elapsed 132541.743 0.004 132533.526 As you can see, there is huge difference btw elapsed time and system time. Does that mean lots of I/O? Or some bad coding? Thanks, Libo [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Hey, I''ve been trying to get the gplpv drivers working with Windows 2008 R2 64-bit on both a stock CentOS 5.8 install and CentOS 5.8 w/ Xen 4.1.2 from the gitco repos. I''m getting a BSOD shortly after boot up and it can be seen at http://techmonkeys.org/xen/ -- along with the qemu log. Has anyone had success with these drivers and Windows 2008 R2 64-bit? confusion about the meaning of CONFIG_XEN
hi all, I noticed "CONFIG_XEN" appears many times in Xen source code. I''m confused about the meaning of "CONFIG_XEN". For example, in "gnttab.c", the definations of gnttab_map() and gnttab_resume() vary with "ifdef CONFIG_XEN" or not. And I also noticed ifndef CONFIG_XEN , the file <platform-pci.h> is included. So my questions

RExcel, ROOo and LibreOffice inquiry
Dear all I'd like to give RExcel a decent spin, mainly to take advantage of Excel's data management facilities and automatic recalculations.
