[PATCH] HTTP accept filter support for FreeBSD
This small patch extends configure_socket_options to support FreeBSD''s accf_http(9), which defers accept() until there''s a full HTTP request to read. Seems to work fine on 6.1-STABLE. DragonflyBSD should work too provided the /freebsd/ line is modified to match it. accf_http(9): http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=accf_http&sektion=9 -- Thomas

+ migrations in camping
Camping apps are supposed to be little independent apps, often contained in a single file, which create the database tables and manage them without hassle. These days it''s common to see in a Camping app: module Tepee::Models def self.schema(&block) @@schema = block if block_given? @@schema end end Tepee::Models.schema do create_table :tepee_pages,

putting away HashWithIndifferentAccess
Hey, campineros. And many good handshakes to zimbatm for getting some patches applied. So, yeah, I''d really like to get rid of any serious dependancies with this 1.6 release. Anything that''s not in stdlib has to go. Of course, camping-omnibus will still assume the whole ActiveRecord, Markaby, Mongrel setup that''s in the history books. Metaid can be removed and

Using a cgi perl program?
I have a cgi/perl program that I want to use on the same server as my RoR app and I keep getting: The page you were looking for doesn''t exist. You may have mistyped the address or the page may have moved. I load the program to the cgi-bin directory in its own folder /cgi-bin/ fump/ In the /public folder of my app I have the following .htaccess file: # General Apache options

Test out the upcoming plugins stuff for me
Hi folks, I''ve been working on the plugins system this weekend and I think I''ve nailed it down. The system will basically be able to load gems that are configured right to be plugins. It''ll do it fairly dynamically and shouldn''t require any configuration from the end user other than to install the gem. Doing this though will involve a bit of surgery on the

RESTful mixin, mixin repo?
Hi, I just put together a little mixin to provide pseudo-RESTful services in camping apps. Basically, it looks for a hidden _verb field in form posts, and sets the @method to the supplied value (e.g. put or delete - which browsers don''t support). This lets you define put and delete methods in your controllers. Groovy. Code: http://pastie.caboo.se/22613 Is there any permanent repo of

Mongrel Web Server 0.3.12.2 -- Iron Mongrel (Parser Fix)
Hello Everyone, This is an ultra quick announce for a bug fix release to Mongrel. It corrects a small change in the HTTP parser that causes an error when people use multi-part forms in a certain way. The fix is literally 4 characters changed in the parser specification. Everyone should update to this release and let me know if their forms act really weird. I''ve tested various upload

When should you restart a ruby server?
Hello everyone, While walking through AWDWR, Task D: Add a Dash of AJAX, I was initially unable to let the AJAX magic work. Hitting the Add to Cart button doesn''t yield to any output on its own; I had to manually refresh the pages to witness the change. But when I tried to restart the ruby server, and load the application again, everything worked fine. Any explanations to behavior

Mongrel Web Server 0.3.11 -- Edge Rails and Win32 Compliant
Hello Folks, This is the big release of Mongrel that''s been in the works for a while now (well, like a week). It is chock full of changes and features, but mostly it syncs up the Win32 side of things, and validates that Edge Rails works without problems. It also features a more extensive and useful example of the GemPlugins called mongrel_config. First the usual stuff for people

Gem versioning and auto installs
Gem drives me daft sometimes. It gives you this wonderful ability to specify a platform for a gem, but forgets to provide a command line switch to select the platform. Politely it asks you, which is all very well when you are installing on one machine interactively, but no good at all on a cluster of 15 machines from a Capistrano script. Is there any way to get gem to automatically select the

importing data to SQLite database with sqldf
Hi all, I am attempting to learn SQL through sqldf... One task I am particularly interested in is merging separate (presumably large) files into a single table without loading these files into R as an intermediate step (by loading them into SQLite and merging them there). Taking a step back, I've considered these alternatives: 1) I know if I use straight SQLite commands I might use the

Session handling busted on Oracle
Hi, Ruby 1.8.6 (one-click) Camping 1.5 I''d submit this as a bug, but the tracker says I''m forbidden, so here you go. The first problem is that the sql to create the sessions table is broken. This is what it tried to send: CREATE TABLE sessions ( id NUMBER(38) NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY (38), --> Problem here hashid VARCHAR2(32), created_at DATE, ivars CLOB DEFAULT
