[XCP] Network confusion
Hello, I am using XCP 1.0 and am accessing it with XenCenter. I have three NIC''s and I have bonded two of them through the XenCenter frontend. I then create a VLAN using XenCenter and attach it to the bond0. I create a VM and create its NIC to use VLAN 10, which it does and when the VM boots the NIC shows Active inside of XenCenter. When I look at the XCP host it shows VLAN 10 as an

XCP storage
Hello, I have setup XCP using the install .iso and have been trying to do an install over http, this has failed miserably each time. So now I want to just carve out an lvm from the disk and put my .iso files in there and install off of them. How is this done? I can create an lvm easy enough but I am not sure how to mount it and expose it to XCP. Is there some type of magic I am missing? Is there

VLAN issue
Thank you everyone. OK, the mystery deepens, I guess. The machine does need to support several VLAN's, it is currently on a trunkport (8021q encapsulated), it made it into the ARP table - which I specifically tested for by physically unplugging the table, clearing the ARP table and plugging it back in. The ARP table currently looks like this: hq#show arp Protocol Address Age (min)

答复: How to configure VLAN in CentOS7

My guess would be that the switch isn't configured to give you access to VLAN 5 with tagged packets.

Bug#677509: xcp-xapi: migration of PV linux does not produce grace ARP
Package: xcp-xapi Version: 1.3.2-6 Severity: important Configuration: Two xcp-xapi hosts (default sid/xcp-xapi installation) in single pool. Network backend is bridge. After migration of 'idle' (doning nothing) virtual machine it stops to reply to ping for long time. AFAIK that caused by mac-learning table on upper level (hardware) switch, which route all frames to wrong port

A VLAN is basically a 4 byte "tag" that gets injected into the packet header when the packet enters the VLAN network. When we trunk a VLAN we say to the switch "pass packets on VLAN x but

Problem with VLANs on tg3 NICs
I have 3 machines, T60 thinkpad with e1000 NIC Dell PowerEdge 2950 with bnx2 NIC HP DL360 G4P with tg3 NIC All running xen 3.03 / 2.6.16.29-xen I have a netbootable image with 2.6.16.29-xenU. This image when it boots creates a vlan eth0.4002, and then tries to communicate on that interface to a central server. On the machines with e1000 an bnx2 NICs, this works fine. On the

XCP 1.1 VLAN setup
Dear XCP lovers, We have installed XCP 1.1 on our BladeCenter and it is working like a charm. Except when creating a VLAN, the xenserver needs to be switched to bridge mode and back to openvswitch. As I understood, this is a bug in xenserver 5.6 SP2 and will be fixed in the xencenter 6.0 which will come with XCP 1.5. Is there a date when the beta version will be released ? Concerning our VLAN

Vlan trunk/QinQ connected to KVM guest
I am running KVM guests under Redhat 6. I tried to setup a bridge device to an interface with a vlan trunk connected to a Juniper switch. On the KVM host, I am able to define vlans and access them via the vlan trunk. I was not able to access a vlan from the kvm guest connected to the bridged interface. I believe this would be what is commonly called QinQ or 802.1ad. Is this possible to do? I

[Bridge] [PATCH/RFC] Let {ip, arp}tables "see" bridged VLAN tagged {I, AR}P packets
Hi all, The patch below does four trivial changes and one big change Trivial changes, these are all in br_netfilter.c: - check ar_pln==4 when giving bridged ARP packets to arptables - delete unnecessary if in br_nf_local_in - add more logging for the "Argh" message - add some brag-comments in the file head comment Big change: let {ip,arp}tables see VLAN tagged {I,AR}P packets. Bug#682216: Documenting VLAN networking setup with XCP
Hi John, I've been chatting with Aron Xu, a Debian Developer from Beijing. He has been trying XCP. Chatting with him, we agreed that there's really not enough documentation when we want to work with VLAN networking and XCP. So we are trying to address this before Wheezy is released. Thanks to Aron, we have a beginning of a small howto for the dom0 (I changed only a bit of his style

Virtual Routers would this work?
Hello all, I need a virtual firewall/router solution. I''m thinking of a netscreen 1000 but I want to know if it can be done in Linux. Here is my idea: 1 Linux box 2 GigE interfaces 1 interface setup with a public IP address ($PUBIP) 1 interface setup with 802.1q VLAN trunking with 100 vlans assigned ($VLAN1-$VLAN100) a /25 subnet routed to $PUBIP from my core routers All $VLAN

[Bridge] bridge, vlan and *no* stp/bpdu
Hello list, I've posted here about this before, but I realise that it may have been assumed that the bridged vlans simply put a switch port in a blocking state and left my question ignored. So to recap. I have two tg3 interfaces named 'in' and 'out' and a bridge named 'br0' My vlan trunk is on the 'in' side of the network, and set as in.2, in.3 ... The

Guest still receive packet with vlan tag (SR-IOV transparent VLAN)
Hello everyone, I'm having problem with SR-IOV transparent VLAN. My host is Fedora 22 and my guest is: pfSense 2.3. The NIC is Intel 82576. I'm using pfSense Packet Capture to check the packet and find that inbound packet still have the vlan tag. The outbound packet seem fine because the router can receive DHCP discover packet from the guest and then send DHCP offer and ARP request
