Help with xhr request in integration tests
Hello, The documentation at api.rubyonrails.com for ActionController::TestProcess#xhr or xml_http_reponse gives method as the first parameter and action as the second parameter folled by the parameters hash, etc. But ActionController::Integration::Session#xhr has a path, followed by the parametes hash, and apparently no alias for xhr. Of course, the documentation in the AWDwR book would tend to

i have lots of divs, which are added via link_to_remote. now i want to delete them with a link_to_remote button for each. i am giving them ids with the same name and a serialized number. when trying to access them with javascript/rjs, strange things happen: "RJS Error: TypeError: $(element) has no properties?. is this a rails, rjs or prototype bug? or am i missing something? see my code

rjs woes, any hints?
I''ve pared my rjs experiment down to what seems a bare minimum. When I click on my link_to_remote, the rjs executes, returns the correct javascript to the browser, but it doesn''t update the div I''ve specified. What appears to be coming back from the controller is: Element.update("my_form", "hello, rjs"); I''m tearing my hair out.

Story adapter and SQLite Was:What command to run all stories?
Hi, by switching to MySQL from SQLite, it fixed the problem. I ran rdebug on it and it is trying to call I ActiveRecord::Base.connection.begin_db_transaction. from ActiveRecordSafetyListener.scenario_started. I don''t think SQLLite likes transactions. Unable to page.replace_html from rjs
I am having problems updating a div defined in a partial using both Element.update and page.replace_html in an rjs. I can put a link_to_remote in the partial using an :update, and the div updates fine. Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening? In the partial: <div><div> . . <div id="question_<%=question.id%>_error"></div> . (if a

AJAX GET requests returning "uninitialized constant Mime::RJS"
Hey all, I thought this was working until recently. I''m using link_to_remote: link_to_remote("More info", :url => user_path(user), :update => "show_#{user.id}", :method => :get) # NOTE: "GET" request This then updates a hidden div ("show_123"

RJS-Template and link_to_remote
Hi, I am quite new to rails and can''t use any rjs-templates. The problem is, that he can''t use/find the methods in that template e.g. ''page'' or ''replace_html''. I get an error message on these methods. Here''s what I got so far in my example: Controller: ---- class AjaxTestController < ApplicationController layout

Where do AJAX Callbacks go into RJS templates...
I''ve successfully created a super long link_to_remote() in my view template that has lots of AJAX call backs to update my page. I want to put these into RJS templates, but I can not figure out how to do so. Are things like :loading, :success, :failure, :complete moot when using RJS because this is the logic you put into the action from the link_to_remote? - TIA, Ken

RJS and remote forms
I''ve run into what I think is a browser bug related to using remote_forms pushed in an RJS update. In my controller, I have an action that creates a new model and returns a form for one of its children: def create_party party = Party.create render :update do |page| page.insert_html :top, ''party-list'', :partial => ''party_header'',

RJS wierdness - Content div display js code
Hi, I have a link_to_remote name ''Show notes'', which calls an action that uses this RJS template: page.replace "notes_remote", :partial => "notes/hide_notes_link" page.insert_html :top, "notes_list", :template => "notes/list" page.visual_effect :highlight, ''notes_list'', :duration => 3 Works great. RJS not working?
I''ve been attempting to add a simple rjs ''delete'' method to my project. However, no matter what I try, it simply doesn''t work. Even the easy, easy stuff seems broken. (Yes, <%= javascript_include_tag :defaults %> is being included in the template.) For example, from: http://www.codyfauser.com/articles/2005/11/20/rails-rjs-templates VIEW: <h1

After upgrade to 0.7.5, specs are now using the development, not the test DB
Hi, After I upgraded RSpec from 0.7.4 to 0.7.5, first the gem, then the Rails plugin, I noticed that when I ran my spec/models, the fixtures were overwriting the data in the development environment DB, not the test one. The test environment was being used prior to the upgrade. I am using SQLite3 and an in-memory db for the test environment. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Ed -- Ed

RJS templates before, during and after
RJS templates are nifty. They let you put all sorts of fun effects all over your bland html pages without too much work. The link_to_remote function also lets you run scripts before, during, and after an AJAX call is run by using callbacks. There does not seem to be an equivalent method for running an RJS template before or during an action. Rendering it at the end is no problem. One

get method under 1.1.4 in Stories is undefined
HI, After I upgraded to RSpec 1.1.4 (from git), my stories all failed. I was using Webrat and the first thing I noticed was the ''visits'' method was gone. I then backtracked to just using ''get'' and got the same undefined method exception. I confirmed it was still working in 1.1.3 Eventually, I got it to work doing this: in my first Given: @app =
