Help on setting up a PVM

Bug#595531: xen-utils-common: boot="d" does not boot from CD (documentation issue?)
Package: xen-utils-common Version: 4.0.0-1 Severity: normal This is an offshoot of Bug#588888, but is really a separate issue. It appears that with hvmloader, the disk device names presented to the vm must by from a specific set that hvmloader knows how to emulate. Names like hd[a-c] and sd[a-c] work, but sr0 does not. While this makes sense, when you think about what hvmloader is doing, it is

Re: Re: XAPI on debian - sr-create issue
You''re right scout the last line. Out looks like xapi is waiting on tapdisk to plug a key into xenstore. Perhaps a udev rule problem? Perhaps someone who knows more about tapdisk than I well be able to diagnose this tomorrow. Mike Sent from Samsung tablet Sébastien RICCIO <sr@swisscenter.com> wrote: Of course, here it is attached. Last line seems interesting. However tapdisk2

Installing XCP from USB thumb drive
Has anyone experimented with installing XCP from a USB thumb drive? Is it possible? How was the installation media installed to the USB thumb drive (e.g., dd)? XCP 1.0 beta : NOOB: how do i log into a newly created VM?
Hi: Sorry for the basic NOOB question but I managed to create a VM but now I am stuck. On page 26 of the XCP Virtual Machine Installation Guide it says "VNC and perform the OS installation". I tried everything I could find (listed below) but I am stuck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Here are two questions whose answers would really help: 1.

root device
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I created a bootable linux cd and always had to enter the root device (cd drive) as kernel parameter at the syslinux prompt. (i.e. linux root=/dev/hdc) I could not set a fixed root device as this cd should be bootable on other systems with cd drive as /dev/hdd or something different, too. So my question is, is there a way of letting syslinux

QemuDomainObjEndJob called when libvirtd is started and libvirt insists qemu is using the wrong disk source.
List, I was under the impression that I could restart libvirtd without it destroying my VMs, but am not finding that to be true. When I killall libvirtd then my VM's keep running, but then when I start libvirtd it calls qemuDomainObjEndJob:1542 : Stopping job: modify (async=none vm=0x7fb8cc0d8510 name=test) and my domain gets whacked. Any way to disable this behavior? Also, while I'm

Xapi packages in CentOS xen-c6 repo: first steps
Hi list, Dave Scott has been working on a prototype of XenServer's Xapi running on stock CentOS 6.4 x86_64, with libvirt and ceph integration. He plans to demo this at the CentOS dojo in Aldershot next week. We'll be publishing the RPMs for this in a public Yum repo, and we would really like for these RPMs to eventually live in the xen-c6 repo. I was wondering what are the steps for

Bug#687319: xcp-storage-managers: CDROM VDIs don't hotplug in guests because ISO SRs are misconfigured
Package: xcp-storage-managers Version: 0.1.1-2ubuntu1 Severity: normal This bug prevents CDROM VDIs from being hotplugged into guest VMs. The issue is that the NFS ISO SR configures the ISO VDIs to be 'file' types, which it should configure them to by 'phy' types. This breaks on Debian's Xen because the Debian hotplug scripts are more robuse than the ones on XenServer, and

Question re: CentOS-6.0, KVM, and /dev/sr0
I am experimenting with KVM and I wish to create a virtual machine image in a logical volume. I can create the new lv without problem but when I go to format its file system then I get these warnings: Warning: WARNING: the kernel failed to re-read the partition table on /dev/sda (Device or resource busy). As a result, it may not reflect all of your changes until after reboot. Warning: Unable to

btrfs device scan

The results are the same whether the filesystems are mounted or not. Why is "btrfs device scan" not

problems with burning i386 centos 6 dvd
Hey guys, Thanks a lot for the CentOS 6 distro. I am having trouble burning the i386 dvds. I tried on a RHEL 6 deskop and also a CentOS 5 laptop. The command I am running on both systems is this: growisofs -dvd-compat -speed=4 -Z /dev/sr0=/home/gsgatlin/CentOS-6.0-i386-bin-DVD/CentOS-6.0-i386-bin-DVD.iso The error I am seeing is: :-( /dev/sr0: 2295104 blocks are free, 2297586 to be written!
