Xen on two node DRBD cluster with Pacemaker
Hi all, could somebody point me to what is considered a sound way to offer Xen guests on a two node DRBD cluster in combination with Pacemaker? I prefer block devices over images for the DomU''s. I understand that for live migration DRBD 8.3 is needed, but I''m not sure as to what kind of resource agents/technologies are advised (LVM,cLVM, ...) and what kind of DRBD config

Configuring Xen + DRBD + Corosync + Pacemaker
Hi everyone, I need some help to setup my configuration failover system. My goal is to have a redundance system using Xen + DRBD + Corosync + Pacemaker On Xen I will have one virtual machine. When this computer has network down, I will do a Live migration to the second computer. The first configuration I will need is a crossover cable, won''t I? It is really necessary? Ok, I did it. eth0

Node Recovery locks I/O in two-node OCFS2 cluster (DRBD 8.3.8 / Ubuntu 10.10)
I am running a two-node web cluster on OCFS2 via DRBD Primary/Primary (v8.3.8) and Pacemaker. Everything seems to be working great, except during testing of hard-boot scenarios. Whenever I hard-boot one of the nodes, the other node is successfully fenced and marked ?Outdated? * <resource minor="0" cs="WFConnection" ro1="Primary" ro2="Unknown"

How I go about assigning sections of iscsi for virtual hard drives . should go about assigning Should I export the whole 8TB as one iscsi and then use lvm to create smaller virtual disk. Or should I

Large Corosync/Pacemaker clusters
Hi, We''re setting up fairly large Lustre 2.1.2 filesystems, each with 18 nodes and 159 resources all in one Corosync/Pacemaker cluster as suggested by our vendor. We''re getting mixed messages on how large of a Corosync/Pacemaker cluster will work well between our vendor an others. 1. Are there Lustre Corosync/Pacemaker clusters out there of this size or larger? 2.

as promised description of my XEN HA setup
Hi all, In threads posted by I believe Jonathan Tripley I promised to post my new XEN HA setup. Hope it can be of some use to some people. In this particular case I''m forced to use SLES 10SP3 with XEN 3.2, which excludes the possibility of using things like cLVM (which I don''t think I need anyway). So: Storage: I use two HP ML370 G5 machines with DRBD and heartbeat on

Corosync init-script broken on CentOS6
Hello all, I am trying to create a corosync/pacemaker cluster using CentOS 6.0. However, I'm having a great deal of difficulty doing so. Corosync has a valid configuration file and an authkey has been generated. When I run /etc/init.d/corosync I see that only corosync is started. >From experience working with corosync/pacemaker before, I know that this is not enough to have a functioning

drbd strategy
I have an existing in-production LAMP server running Centos 5.1. It uses physical partitions on top of hardware RAID1, having / /home /var and /boot on separate partitions. We have a near-identical system I am thinking of bringing in as a DRBD/Heartbeat companion. One solution may be to use csync2 [http://oss.linbit.com/csync2/] on /etc and /usr/local (the only areas that will differ from

Looking for Asterisk+Pacemaker+Corosync+DRBD example
I'm trying to setup a pair of FreePBX-4.211.64 boxes using Pacemaker, Corosync, and DRBD. All the examples I've found so far use Heartbeat, but Heartbeat is not in the repositories and doesn't want to compile from source. Does anyone have a working configuration they can share or a tutorial they can point me to? Also, what does drbdlinks bring to the party? Isn't just linking

Samba 3.6.9 - Redundancy (HA/BDC/DRBD)
Hi everybody, our university uses a Samba 3.6.9 server as PDC for a windows domain on a single physical server (external LDAP on another server is used). To get some redundancy up running a second physical machine was bought, which is exactly the same as the one running. Now I?m searching for the best way to get the job done. The first thought was to build a HA-Cluster with Corosync/Pacemaker

c6, drbd and file systems
You could also use pacemaker to manage promoting the drbd device and mounting it with a dead master role as a dependency. Are you using anything to automatically promote the send slave already?

samba file server with heartbeat and drbd
Hello, While working on heartbeat/pacemaker for a web service stored on drbd, I've thought what I've learnt could also be applied to samba in order to build a fault tolerant file server in our domain. While digging samba's doc, I've found that CTDB could also fulfill the need and is maybe better suited as it's samba-related. But on the other hand, I'd appreciate to begin

NUT configuration complicated by Stonith/Fencing cabling
Roger, Thanks for your reply. As I understand it, for reliable fencing a node cannot be responsible for fencing itself, as it may not be functioning properly. Hence my "cross over" setup. The direct USB connection from Webserver1 to UPS-Webserver2 means that Webserver1 can fence (cut the power to) Webserver2 if the cluster software decides that it is necessary. If my UPSes were able to

Hi all ! Is anyone using xen kernel + drbd 8.2.4 ? I don''t know exactly if my problems come from the addition of the two packages, or from drbd 8.2.4, but I encoutered kernel panic 2 times when trying to do first sync of drbd resources :s Cheers, -- Serge Dewailly _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com

A question about DRBD and nfs
Hi, I been working on for about a month and half on setup drbd and nfs. I keep running into issue with the way heartbeat/pacemaker handles nfs. Does anyone know a good way to set up a HA NFS server with DRBD and Heartbeat and NFS. I am willing to share my pain in setting it up.
