without MAC addr in dhcpd.conf will not get IP addr
Hi, I successfully boot up diskless client to DOS. In
my dhcpd.conf, I have specified the MAC address of
each network card like :
host client1 {
hardware ethernet xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx;
}
When I removed the host client {...}, my client will
not get the DHCP address. I do not wish to key in
thousands of MAC address in the dhcpd.conf when I
implement this. Any help? Thanks.

Suggested update to the Wiki page on PXElinux (UEFI-related stuff in ISC dhcpd.conf)
Dear gentlemen,
here goes the documentation fix I was talking about :-)
The Wiki page on PXElinux, specifically the chapter on UEFI at the
end of that page:
https://wiki.syslinux.org/wiki/index.php?title=PXELINUX#UEFI
...contains a few examples of ISC DHCPd configuration.
The stumbling block for me was the syntax of these "if" scopes:

xen hvmloader gpxe
I am testing several Operating System Streaming products to streams
virtual desktops.
They always requires pxe boot but xen seems to have a pxe which is not
suitable.
I got the same problem with kqemu and kvm and I solved it using gpxe.
With xen I tried to chainloading gpxe (following gpxe wiki) but
hvmloader fails to load it (memory problem?).
Any workaround

Client can't boot
Hi,
I'm trying to configure PXE syslinux to boot a diskless client but the
client can't find the PXE boot image. I've configured the DHCP server
as follows:

option domain-name "cluster.net";
option domain-name-servers 10.0.0.1;
default-lease-time 6048;

[PATCH] com32: recognize gPXE's COMBOOT as gPXE
This makes is_gpxe() recognize gPXE's COMBOOT implementation as gPXE.
Previously, is_gpxe() only recognized PXELINUX loaded from gPXE.

How to support iSCSI multipath...
Hi Bootmeisters,
I am using gpxelinux.0 + sanboot.c32 to boot a diskless machine into Linux. I
would like to use device-mapper-multipath to provide fault tolerant access to
its root disk.
Although I am able to do this by hardcoding the additional paths in the initrd,
it would be better if the bootloader could pass the information in the iBFT
(iSCSI Boot Firmware Table). However, at the

gpxe and pxelinux
I have been looking at the etherboot site and at the syslinux/pxelinx
sites trying to figure out how to use gpxe, and I am a bit confused. :)
In a nutshell, I simply want to use http to grab the config and messages
files. (I need those files to be dynamic.)
I tried just replacing pxelinux.o with gpxelinux.0. But, gpxe complains
(A LOT) about unrecognized commands. I can't find a simple

gpxe help
Hello,
This is my first post. Please forgive me if I am not posting this in the
right location. I work at a college where we clone staff computer every now
and then. We have an internal network in our office. There is a Linux NAT,
DHCP, PXE server in our office separating the two networks. Internally, we

PXE Boot Menu with iSCSI and AOE!
Dear developer,
I am working on a project for my graduate work (diploma), which includes iSCSI and AOE booting. I made some menus using pxelinux and things are working fine with linux, but I have a small problem with windows system which require direct iscsi or aoe access.
I have dhcpd.conf setup that it to each first dhcp request handles out pxelinux.0, then I can chooose from that menu which OS

gpxelinux.0 under a QEMU GPXE virtual boot rom?
You're all back! (yippie!). Now I can ask the question that's been nagging
at me over the past month...
Is booting gpxelinux.0, under QEMU, which provides it's own GPXE capable
boot rom supposed to work? Or, is it a redundant (the GPXE boot room
already provides the functionality of gpxelinux.0) and suicidally dumb thing
to do? I've found some references to other people

Passing commands from pxelinux to gpxe ?
Hi All,
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I've managed to get
pxelinux to load gpxe and then manually load linux by
using the gpxe command line and HTTP for the kernel and
initial ram disk.
My question is whether it is possible to somehow pass
gpxe commands through some mechanism other than
the DHCP filename response. Since I don't have control
over our DHCP infrastructure, but do

gPXE static IP parameter instead of DHCP
Hey *,
When using gPXE as a second stage loader, the computer will complete this
procedure:
POST/BIOS,
PXE (DHCP+TFTP) -> Download gPXE ROM,
Execute ROM,
Do a second DHCP request,
Download images with HTTP,
I was wondering if PXELinux/gPXE can give the gPXE-ROM some parameters
like a static IP based on the IP they got the first time, so it does not
have to do the second DHCP request.
I am
