Fwd: LARGE folder/filesystem shared to Win 2k.
Hi all. Got a strange question for you (it's for an industrial setting.)
I have a large folder (15TB) on a *buntu server that I'd like to have
available to a Windows 2000 Server VM machine (don't ask.)
The host filesystem is ext4, but Samba shouldn't care about that.
What I'm wondering is will Windows be able to access/utilize all the
space on that, or is it going to start

throwaway() function
Dear all,
I apologize if this is a FAQ (seems a bit like one, but I didn't find
anything).
I'm looking for an easy way to cut one value out of a vector and shorten
the vector accordingly. Something like:
x <- c(1, 1, 0, 6, 2)
throwaway(x[3])
which will return x = 1 1 6 2, with length(x) = 4. I know one could do
this by hand, but then one would have to create a second vector y in a

CentOS or other Linux Internet Router/Gateway
Hi Everyone,
I've got kids who are growing older and I want to build a Linux box to
filter Internet access. I've got six computers on the Internet, plus
the laptops -- most run Windows. I'm not sure if it's called a router
or gateway or...? I don't mind doing the leg work, I just don't know
where to start. I'm pretty sure I'm *not* looking for a web server

Return values in fExtremes package
Hi,
I was usuing the fExtemes package, and wanted to obtain some of the values returned from the function gumbelFit(). For example, in the following code, I would like to access 'mu' and 'beta' from the object 'para'. How should I go about doing this? Is there any generic method to access the object?

[Prototype] Ajax.Request include form fields?
Hi,
Is it possible to submit my form (or part of my form) with an ajax
request? I had been using dojo to do this, but having just read up on
the prototype library, I think I''d rather use prototype. The one
thing I don''t see (maybe I''m just missing it) is the ability to submit
my form (actually just parse through an element and include all inputs
as request parameters)

metRology package
I'm having trouble with a simple application with metRology. I need to
estimate the uncertainty of the density thickness of seven sheets of film.
This is calculated from measurements of mass, length and width of
rectangular samples of film.
It's not too hard to calculate the whole thing with a little Monte Carlo
loop. I get about 0.07 with this:

Help to write to a file
Dear all:
I am having some problems to use the function "sink()". Basically I am doing
a loop over two files which contain unit-root variables. Then on a loop, I
extract every i element of both files to create an object called z. If z
meets some requirements, then I perform a unit root test (ADF test),
otherwise not. As this process is repeated several times, for each i I want

[Xen-API] XCP - ddk network
Hi,
I''ve installed XCP 0.5 and I''m following these steps:
http://xenbits.xen.org/xapi/install.html to install ddk VM. But I can''t get
network working.
I tried to create a vif under xenbr0 then assigned mannually a IP address
and to create a vif under xapi0. But in both cases I can ping only dom0 IP.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance.
