Making a array to use with @user.
Hi all, I made this array: @army_types = ["ss","s","xl","l","m","w","xw"] but, I want to be able to go like this @army_types.each do |st| @user.st end but, I get the error that "@user.st" st is not a valid feild for the table user. Is there a way to get around MySQL running it first? -- Posted via

case statements in views...strange error on OSX
I have a simple case statement in one of my views. This works fine on my windows machine. Move to the mac and I get: "parse error, unexpected tIDENTIFIER, expecting kWHEN". I have not changed anything but cannot resolve the issue. my view has this in it (simplified for test) <% case controller.controller_name -%> <% when "accounts" -%> <h3>worked

I am trying to multiply a 3D array of 4x4x4 by the 4 3D arrays of a 4D array with dimensions 4x4x4x4 (the last dimension being the one that I want to split by). Arguments passing through dot-dot-dot lose ability to check for missing()?
Hi R-devel. Is the following behavior in g1() and h1() expected? It seems to make "..." arguments work slightly differently from named arguments. #missing() has the property that it looks "up the chain" #for example, "z" can be missing in f3 even if #that argument did have a name ("y") in f2 f1 <- function(x, ...) { cat("In f1, missing(x) is

two-sample test of multinomial proportion
Hi all, This is perhaps more a statistics question than an R question, but I hope it's OK anyhow. I have some data (see below) with the number of tests positive to subtype H1 of a virus, the number of tests postive to subtype H3, and the total number of tests. This is for two different groups, and the two subtypes are mutually exclusive. What is the best way to test if the proportion of H1

Backpropagation to adjust weights in a neural net when receiving new training examples
I want to create a neural network, and then everytime it receives new data, instead of creating a new nnet, i want to use a backpropagation algorithm to adjust the weights in the already created nn. I'm using nnet package, I know that nn$wts gives the weights, but I cant find out which weights belong to which conections so I could implement the backpropagation algorithm myself. But if anyone

howto create a list row-by-row as input to function call?
Hi, I'm having trouble within my function CalcPos to get it to call CalcHorz with values from each row. I *think* it's calling CalcHorz with the final values of the inputs and not the values from each row. How can I do this properly in R? The values aa,bb,cc,dd are inputs. CalcPos first calculates V1 and V2 vertically, and then I attempt to call CalcHorz to handle H1, H2 & H3

Re flect Back to Back Histograms in x-axis?
I've looked long and hard for this, but maybe I am missing something... There is a nice module that displays histograms reflected in the y axis, i.e. http://addictedtor.free.fr/graphiques/RGraphGallery.php?graph=136 but is it possible to reflect in the x-axis, so to have two datasets, one pointing up and one down rather than left and right? I haven't been able to find a way to plot this

RJS not working?
I''ve been attempting to add a simple rjs ''delete'' method to my project. However, no matter what I try, it simply doesn''t work. Even the easy, easy stuff seems broken. (Yes, <%= javascript_include_tag :defaults %> is being included in the template.) For example, from: http://www.codyfauser.com/articles/2005/11/20/rails-rjs-templates VIEW: <h1

md2html.awk and a question
Hello, I have just subscribed to this list. I will introduce myself: For some time, I have kept a markdown implementation in awk for personal use, different from other implementations. Now, I'm in the process of rewriting it and I'm trying to do it as compatible as possible. There are many questions I have, I know some test suites and am trying to pass those tests. When I don't know

data set changes
Hi all, Here's my story. I have 3 hosts, 1 remote and 2 local. We'll say for the sake of clarity that h1 is remote and h2 is the local rsync pull host and h3 is also a local host on the net. Using rsync, I want to pull a data set first from h1 to both h2 and h3. The first pull copies all the data from h1 to h2 and h3. OK, that gives me a baseline of the data on both h2 and h3.

Ip Src rewite.
Hello folks.. Does any of you know if it is possible to rewrite the ip src in a packet. I have a problem involving a DMZ with external IP addresses routed trough a single WAN IP. When the server initiates a connection, it looks like it comes from the WAN ip instead of it''s designated External IP routed through the WAN. So in short, Is it possible to rewrite the packet in the router,

a question about clustering
Hi all. Sorry to bother you. I have a table like the following A B C D E F G1 0 1 1 0 1 1 G2 0 1 1 0 1 1 G3 0 0 0 0 0 1 H1 1 1 1 1 1 1 H2 1 0 1 1 0 1 H3 1 0 1 1 0 1 I already know G1, G2 and G3 belong to the same group and H1, H2 and H3 belong to the other group. I want to cluster A, B, C, D, E and F. It seems that I can't input the group information of G1-H3 into
