Setting up 1.6.2.9 on Debian 6.0 Squeeze
Hello. I would need some help trying to setup Asterisk 1.6.2.9-2+squeeze1 on a Debian 6.0 system. I'd like to use the Debian packages, hence the "strange" version number? Since I'm new to Asterisk, I'm trying to follow "The Asterisk Book" at http://www.the-asterisk-book.com/unstable/minimale-telefonanlage.html and created a VERY basic sip.conf; see

Problems mounting ZFS after install
Let me thank everyone in advance. I''ve read a number of posts here and it helped tremendously in getting the install done. I have a couple of remaining issues which I can''t seem to overcome. Here are the basics: dom0 - CentOS 5.2 32-bit Xen 3.2.1 compiles from source domU - os200805.iso The install config: [root@internetpowagroup oshman]# cat opensolaris.install name =

zfs list extentions related to pNFS
Hi, I am soliciting input from the ZFS engineers and/or ZFS users on an extension to "zfs list". Thanks in advance for your feedback. Quick Background: The pNFS project (http://opensolaris.org/os/project/nfsv41/) is adding a new DMU object set type which is used on the pNFS data server to store pNFS stripe DMU objects. A pNFS dataset gets created with the "zfs

separate home "partition"?
(i use the term loosely because i know that zfs likes whole volumes better) when installing ubuntu, i got in the habit of using a separate partition for my home directory so that my data and gnome settings would all remain intact when i reinstalled or upgraded. i''m running osol 2008.11 on an ultra 20, which has only two drives. i''ve got all my data located in my home directory,

ZFS - SWAP and lucreate..
Good morning everybody I was migrating my ufs ? rootfilesystem to a zfs ? one, but was a little upset finding out that it became bigger (what was clear because of the swap and dump size). Now I am questioning myself if it is possible to set the swap and dump size by using the lucreate ? command (I wanna try it again but on less space). Unfortunately I did not find any advice in manpages.

sub-optimal ZFS performance
Hello, ZFS is behaving strange on a OSOL laptop, your thoughts are welcome. I am running OSOL on my laptop, currently b124 and i found that the performance of ZFS is not optimal in all situations. If i check the how much space the package cache for pkg(1) uses, it takes a bit longer on this host than on comparable machine to which i transferred all the data. user at host:/var/pkg$ time

Problem w/ b95 + ZFS (version 11) - seeing fair number of errors on multiple machines
Hi, After upgrading to b95 of OSOL/Indiana, and doing a ZFS upgrade to the newer revision, all arrays I have using ZFS mirroring are displaying errors. This started happening immediately after ZFS upgrades. Here is an example: ormandj at neutron.corenode.com:~$ zpool status pool: rpool state: DEGRADED status: One or more devices has experienced an unrecoverable error. An attempt was

Confused about zfs recv -d, apparently
First, it fails because the destination directory doesn''t exist. Then it fails because it DOES exist. I really expected one of those to work. So, what am I confused about now? (Running 2008.11) # zpool import -R /backups/bup-ruin bup-ruin # zfs send -R "zp1 at bup-20090222-054457UTC" | zfs receive -dv bup-ruin/fsfs/zp1" cannot receive: specified fs (bup-ruin/fsfs/zp1)

zfs send/receive : panic and reboot
<copied from opensolaris-dicuss as this probably belongs here.> I kept on trying to migrate my pool with children (see previous threads) and had the (bad) idea to try the -d option on the receive part. The system reboots immediately. Here is the log in /var/adm/messages Feb 8 16:07:09 amber unix: [ID 836849 kern.notice] Feb 8 16:07:09 amber ^Mpanic[cpu1]/thread=ffffff014ba86e40: Feb 8

Filesystem "somewhat" destroyed - need help for recovery/fixing
Hello I think, I somewhat destroyed my btrfs filesystem on my Ubuntu 13.04 kernel 3.8.0-25-lowlatency system. It got destroyed, because the system was hanging for some other reason and I had to remove power... When I try to mount my filesystem (there''s only one, with a few subfilesystems), the system crashes. Also btrfsck dies; always like this: a@ask-home:~$ sudo

setup.exe from "Marco Polo Großer Reiseplaner 2005/2006" stops
Hi! I'm trying to use "Marco Polo Gro?er Reiseplaner 2005/2006" with Wine 0.9.13 on Gentoo Linux. To use it, I ran travel\setup.exe from the DVD and the setup just stops, before the "real thing" starts. Please see http://www.myimg.de/?img=BildschirmfotoWinedesktopSeaa8.png In the terminal window from which I started wine, I get: alexander@blatt ~ $ wine

What to do for ACL support?
Hi! I'm trying to setup samba 2.2.4 on MandrakeLinux 8.2. The server should act as a file storage for about 25 Windows 2000 clients. Setting up a "basic" server which just serves the files is easy. However, I'd also like to support NT ACLs on the Samba server. Well, what do I have to do, to get it to work? I'm using the Mandrake RPM for 2.2.4, which has ACL support

[install-discuss] lucreate into New ZFS pool
Hello, Since I''ve got my disk partitioning sorted out now, I want to move my BE from the old disk to the new disk. I created a new zpool, named RPOOL for distinction with the existing "rpool". I then did lucreate -p RPOOL -n new95 This completed without error, the log is at the bottom of this mail. I have not yet dared to run luactivate. I also have not yet dared set the

recursive snaptshot
I thought I recalled reading somewhere that in the situation where you have several zfs filesystems under one top level directory like this: rpool rpool/ROOT/osol-112 rpool/export rpool/export/home rpool/export/home/reader you could do a shapshot encompassing everything below zpool instead of having to do it at each level. (Maybe it was in a dream...)

Free space calculation gets it wrong
Hello! Running Samba 3.x on HP-UX 11.00, Linux and Solaris. I've got a problem with the free space calculation of Samba. The problem is, that Samba only seems to return the free space available in the top directory of a share and not the free space available in the current directory. That's a problem for me, since I share a directory on the server and then mount the actual

virsh troubling zfs!?
Hi and hello, I have a problem confusing me. I hope someone can help me with it. I followed a "best practise" - I think - using dedicated zfs filesystems for my virtual machines. Commands (for completion): zfs create rpool/vms zfs create rpool/vms/vm1 zfs create -V 10G rpool/vms/vm1/vm1-dsk This command creates the file system /rpool/vms/vm1/vm1-dsk and the
