FCGI hanging w/ LightTPD in about 24-48 hours
I started an earlier thread about this ... Someone suggested a different
version of LightTPD, since the version I was using had some known issues
with FCGI. Well, we''ve upgraded to LightTPD 1.4.11 and the problem is
still happening.
We have Rails running under fcgi (one process) under LightTPD. This, in
turn, is proxied to by Apache. This is on a test IP, so only a few

installation problem with lighttpd
Ever since I moved my dev environment from my Powerbook to my new
MacBook Pro, I cannot run the lighttpd webserver - it starts and
immediately crashes out with an error (see below) saying a file does not
exist. I''ve checked the file does exist.
WEBrick works without any problem.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

dispatch.fcgi + lighttpd upload files
Hi,
as i''m aware that there are not too many out there still using
dispatch.fcgi && lighttpd (rather moving to mongrels && nginx ) , i''ll
try to make this simple:
how do i limit a file upload size in lighttpd? am i supposed to do this
via the app? i''ve racked the internet for a while now, and my mind is
heavy and stumped.

File upload works with webrick, but fails in lighttpd 1.4.11
I''ve been trying to add a basic file upload feature (just based on the
Rails Recipes example), but I find that it only works with the webrick
server and not my lighttpd 1.4.11 server.
I''m running Rails 1.1.2 on OSX. The upload silently fails with both
firefox and Safari, even with the useragent hack and with any size of
file/image. My lighttpd config is pretty standard as

Problem with lighttpd on mac
Hi,
I followed the instructions I founded here :
http://developer.apple.com/tools/rubyonrails.html
I can run a small RoR application with webrick, everything is fine in
this case.
But when I try to use lighttpd i can access
http://localhost:3000/images/rails.png for example but not a dynamic
page. In the latter case I dont get any page, the browser is just
waiting infinitely. If I force

problem setting up lighttpd and rails app.
I am trying to set-up lighttpd and rails to work with fastcgi.
Here is what I am currently using for the virtual host definition. I
have gotten this from various websites. Sorry about the formatting I
can''t seem to control it with Thunderbird.

First try with lighttpd
Hi,
I have a Rails application sitting on my computer that works just fine
with webrick. I would like to try to serve it locally with lighttpd
I followed the instructions on the hivelogic site for installing lighttpd

lighttpd path error
Hello list,
I''ve been developing a rails app using webrick as my server. I''m trying
to change my server over to lighttpd as I am now attempting to deploy on
a host that uses lighttpd. I had an older version of lighttpd installed
and could never get it running correctly with my app. Preparing for
deployment I decided to get lighty working and after poking around a bit

Lighttpd now works for production. Development is broken?
I''ve finally gotten lighttpd working for my production instance (SUSE
10.0 with SSL).
(Had to install the fcgi dev toolkit, the SUSE 10 ruby-fcgi rpm, and
the fcgi gem. I''m not positive all 3 were required, but that is what
I did.)
Now the devel instance of my app is broken.
I''m not sure how to fix it.
Previously I was using WEBrick for both devel and production.

Can''t stop/start lighttpd
Hello everyone,
I?ve been working with Ruby on Rails for about 2 months now and have
really enjoyed the ease of use of it. I?m only been doing development
on it so I?ve been using WeBrick. Recently, I have built a server
running Debian Linux, with ruby 1.8.2, rails 1.0.0, lighty 1.4.3, and
Mysql 5.0.18. I used WeBrick to generate a lighttpd.conf file for me, I
changed the paths in the

File Upload Problems With Apache and Lighttpd But Not Webrick...
I am having trouble uploading files through a form when using Apache
(production) or Lighttpd (development). The odd thing is that when I force
script/server to load Webrick, the upload works just fine on the same
code-base.
When it fails, the upload just sits there forever. Some browsers eventually
return an error code, others spin for a long time... Anyway, it never
recovers.
The file is a

Rails Lighttpd Issue on Fedora
Hi guys,
I''m here again with a problem. I have a rails app called brewed. It''s
located /home/user/brewed. My lighttpd.conf is located at
/home/user/lighty. When I execute lighty on port 80 with:
/usr/local/sbin/lighttpd -f /home/user/lighty/lighttpd.conf rails seems
to work fine.
If I type www.mysite.com/main/index on my browser, the page comes out
well. I have my files

Lighttpd setup with rails
Hi Everyone-
I am trying to setup lighttpd on a CentOS 4.2 box after having
problems with getting it to work on Apache. I am hoping some fresh
eyes can see any errors below. The log files are useless as they
just say server stop and server start. When I create an app in rails
I can see the rails welcome screen, but everything else comes up 404.

lighttpd fcgi and rails banchmarks
I have been testing various web development solutions on an unloaded
Mandrake Opteron 150/1Gb box.
I am a little confused about my results on lighttpd with apachebench.
Results are requests per second, all test scripts simply output ''Hello,
World'' in plain text.
