Network reconfiguration glitch after migration
Hello everyone,
I have the following scenario:
* 2 host machines (H1 and H2) running VMs. I execute migrations (QEMU)
from one host to the other, and so on. The migrations are done in a
dedicated LAN (eth1 in both hosts) while regular department LAN runs on eth0
* 1 computer (my desktop computer) also connected to this common LAN on
eth0.
The VMs have a Python script sending UDP packets to

Differences in Samba and CIFS in terms of keeping the deleted files open?
I see there are some bugzilla links open but not really sure if they conform
to the same behaviour what I see.

NIS failover
We just updated our configuratiosn to have multiple NIS servers, when we
initiated a test of client failover, we were disapointed.
It seemed that the only way to get a filaover was to /etc/init.d/ypbind restart.
It behaves as indicated in
http://bugs.opensolaris.org/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=5084845 using
ypbind-1.17.2-13 on Centos 4.5 / Linux xxxxxxxxxxxx 2.6.9-55.0.12.ELsmp #1 SMP

zfs list improvements?
To improve the performance of scripts that manipulate zfs snapshots and the zfs snapshot service in perticular there needs to be a way to list all the snapshots for a given object and only the snapshots for that object.
There are two RFEs filed that cover this:
http://bugs.opensolaris.org/view_bug.do?bug_id=6352014 :
''zfs list'' should have an option to only present direct

[patch?] dtrace privs in zones ?
Hello,
According to
http://bugs.opensolaris.org/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4970596 and
other notes I read
it appears that the ability to run dtrace programs (by having
dtrace_proc and dtrace_user privileges configured inside NGZ''s)
has been made available (through various projects) since build 37 of
Nevada. I am not merely referring to configurable privileges alone, but

ZFS root ARC memory usage on VxFS system...
Hi Folks..
We have started to convert our Veritas clustered systems over to ZFS root to
take advantage of the extreme simplification of using Live Upgrade. Moving the
data of these systems off VxVM and VxFS is not in scope for reasons to numerous
to go into..
One thing my customers noticed immediately was a reduction in "free" memory as
reported by ''top''. By way

ZFS pool fragmentation
I have a huge problem with ZFS pool fragmentation.
I started investigating problem about 2 weeks ago http://www.opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=34423&tstart=0
I found workaround for now - changing recordsize - but I want better solution.
The best solution would be a defragmentator tool, but I can see that it is not easy.
When ZFS pool is fragmented then:
1. spa_sync function is

Samba 2.2.7a and cups 1.1.18
Hi
I have installed samba-2.2.7a and cups-1.1.18. After reading all the documentation samba
provides as well as the cups administrators guide I am still stuck. I have added the
printers just the way the samba and cups documentation says. Anyway here is my output from
cupsaddsmb, It fails on the last step, so i have run that manually again afterwards with
debugging enabled.

format(1M) quits if there are pools on disks and no zfs module
Hi.
While submitting SDR-0149 on ZFS bug I encountered problem with
format utility. This is v240 with snv_29 with internal disks. On s0 slices
there is zfs pool (which is not imported). I did unload zfs modules then
moved zfs driver and run format. Now format quits just because there''s no
zfs module (and not even one zfs pool is imported). It shouldn''t behave
