Is it possible to download Danish, German and French audio files for

activerecord connections with xmlrpc
Hi folks,
Im trying to use an xmlrpc server and have it serve data using
activerecord, but every request seems to eat up a mysql database
connection, until I run out with "Too many connections". I don''t know
enough ruby/rails (or rather ActiveRecord) to figure this one out.

Dear list,
This weeks RCW has a slightly different format than before. After all,
since what we want is less bloat, this RCW is less verbose. Please do

acts_as_encapsulating / acts_as_inherit
Hey,
The rails ORM is great...
But there is no support for enheritance except for the singletable enheritance.
So we''ve come up with the idea:
Create a piece of code that allows the programmer to encapsulate / inherit
objects in a easy way.
One example of it''s practical use.
Imagine a system where you have to store clients, employees and partners.
They are all real

liveice mount points
I have been sucessfully streaming with liveice/icecast. Now I want to add a
second broadcast with differanct music. I thought I could just create a new
dir, plop in a new liveice config file in the dir, with a diff mountpoint in
the second config file and be on my way.
But when i try this, the the second instance of liveice is kill instantly.
Is this the correct way to stream two differant

it fits the bill) connected to 1 box and would like my isp to round robin
between both dsl (to allow for more capacity - each dsl could get me thru
about 16-18 calls and i need about 30

winbind joining domain problem
Over the past Month or so I've been having a hellaciously annoying problem
with Samba and Winbind.
I could joing a domin. wbinfo -t would tell me I had a good secret but when
I did wbinfo -u it would only give me users from a trusted domain. From my
own domain I'd just get some hex code. --- after looking up the hex code
it turns out it stood for NT_STATUS_DOMAIN_NOT_FOUND or

liveice mount points
It sounds like both liveice procs are trying to open the sound card? and
the second one fails? I think you can double check that NO_SOUNDCARD is
set in the second liveice. If you are just streaming a playlist (no
soundcard) with the second liveice you should probably use Ices
instead. I've had one broadcasts going with liveice and a second with Ices
before. Also done 2 using 2 Ices. I never

Stuttering stream after 1 minute
After one minute of connection the stream from our icecast 1.3.10 server
(debian package 1.3.10-2) starts stuttering. And after some stuttering the
client is disconnected by the server. The usual client is a windows winamp.
The icecast logs shows that the the client is not receiving data fast
enough. A small part out the logs is shown below. That the data is not
received fast enough is rediculous

Connecting to multiple databases with multiple database users
Hi everyone,
I was wondering what the common practice for handling multiple db
users with fine grained privileges on multiple databases is. Against
the often read guideline for rails users to keep with a single db as
"more dbs don''t really make sense anyway", my opinion is that it DOES
make sense to use more than one db schema for a number of reasons that
I won''t

virt-resize problem for Windows 2003
Hi,
I'm using virt-resize to expand the primary partition (C:) in a
Windows 2003 image. The command works fine but after expanding, when I boot
into Windows 2003, all the other partitions (D:, E:, and F:) are lost.
After using the disk management tool within Windows 2003, I can re-label
the above three partitions and all the files are still there. But it is
really annoying because every

I can see why this would happen.

OT - JustLPD ...
Greetings ...
A while ago, I ask if anybody had a solution to running remote printers
off Win9X computers without enabling File/Print sharing.
Recieved a few ideas, but most of them were to use pay software, which
I was not able to do.
So after fighting with a few differant ideas, I got my web developer to
download lcc and see what he could do. We googled the net and found the

mountpoints only work on one stream at differant bitrates?

Win2k bringing down SMB
We have a small LAN here with NT4/98 clients. I reformated an NT machine and
poped win2k on it, but as soon as I try to access the network, it takes
over. It can access the samba server fine, but none of the 98/NT machines
can see anything.
Tried originally with 2.0.7-pre4, then i installed 2.0.7 final and
experianced the same problem. Win2k has but to touch the network

MinGW problem - unable to compile - config.log
Hi there!
I've downloaded the MinGW shell, installed it as descripted in
intall.txt, and also the gcc-core-3.4.2-20040916-1 and installed it.
Then I've tried running ./configure, but this is what the process returns:

$ ./configure
