SCSI/SAS error message by mpt2sas.ko
Dear all,
actually I installed CentOS 5.4 x86_64 on 11 new Dell R710 servers. It is
required to use 5.4 to be covered by the NetApp Interoperability Matrix
for use of Snapdrive.
All systems spit out the error message
mpt2sas0: failure at
drivers/scsi/mpt2sas/mpt2sas_scsih.c:4637/_scsih_add_device()!
at boot time. In dmesg the complete SCSI initialization logging appears as
follows:

OT: DELL PERC H200
Does anyone know if a PERC H200 is a real RAID controller? I'm about to
build a box to CentOS 6.5 (it was Windows...) with RAID 6 on Monday, and
this PE R610 has this.... I'm familiar with PERC 6 and 7s, but just dunno
'bout this one.

how to use livecd-creator to create my own livecd iso as same as offical release iso?
Hello list,
I use the livecd-creator to customize my own livecd iso. I use the
kickstart config file from
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/CentOS/sig-core-livemedia/master/kickstarts/centos-7-livecd.cfg.
#livecd-creator -v --config centos-7-livecd.cfg --cache
/var/cache/livecd
finally I got a iso, but the iso is strange.
The offical distribution iso is

problem booting (Fedora) LiveCD ISO over PXELINUX
This is an issue I've researched quite a bit on bug lists, and looked
in the Syslinux Wiki for a way to do this, but haven't yet found a
solution.
1) I have an existing Fedora 13 LiveCD which I burned to a CD and
tested on a system without issue.
2) I then took that same ISO and dropped it in my pxelinux.cfg/default
for being able to boot over the network. I made sure to extract the

Updated livecd building tool
I updated the livecd-tools package from version 013 to 014. This update
introduces new interesting features like :
- support for Xen kernel
- built-in md5sum into the resulting LiveCD ISO
- a new API
See https://projects.centos.org/trac/livecd/wiki/GetToolset for
instructions on how to get this updated toolset.
Since it is a major update, I expect some bugs. I am looking for
feedback from

[PATCH node-image] Fix edit-livecd to re-create ext2 filesystem each time
Old edit-livecd just kept adding to the ext2 fs image which meant
it never decreased in size even if files were removed.
New functionality does multiple passes of ext2fs creation. First pass
creates a new ext2fs from the image file inside the squashfs. This
first pass is to allow the user to optionally increase the filesystem
size. If the -s parameter is omitted the existing size is used and

Writable Centos LiveCD on Embeded Linux?
Hi all,
I was wondering if it possible to have a Centos LiveCD installation boot
from
a Compact Flash in a embeded x86 (Wrap/Alix) platform *and* be able to
save the changes made to the File System back to the Flash memory.
So, the next time the LiveCD boots it will have all the changes made.
The problem I'm trying yo solve is:
- fast boot time
- fast recovery when the Linux is shutdown

Utility of Centos liveCD
It appears that the liveCD (CentOS-5.2-i386-LoveCD.iso that I downloaded
late last week) does not contain either netcat or tcpdump. Given the
frequent use of a livecd for testing and debugging, those would seem to be
key tools that should be available.
Obviously a LiveCD can't contain everything anybody might ever want, but
I'd give those two tools a pretty high priority; certainly much

kickstart config file for LiveCD
Going through the steps for putting a LiveCD on a USB stick, I'm reading
the docs and one is a bit ambiguous on one point:
<https://projects.centos.org/trac/livecd/wiki/GetToolset> says: "The
LiveCD creation process requires a kickstart configuration file." But
two lines above that, is says the kickstart config file is optional.
I've created a couple LiveCDs in the past
