How to install pv guests with tap2:aio for remus
Hi Guys,
I''m working with:
1. xen 4.1;
2. dom0 ubuntu kernel 3.2
I''m trying to run remus with disk replication (I can run without disk
replication). But I read I need to use tap2 <
http://nss.cs.ubc.ca/remus/doc.html>.
Well... first I tried to create a pv guest. Then I take this guest.cfg:

cannot boot guest VM
Hi,
I''m trying to boot a PV VM I just installed (following http://wiki.xen.org/wiki/Debian_Guest_Installation_Using_Debian_Installer) without success.
My XEN installation is xen-unstable 54c8c9eaee92+ on a Debian unstable machine (x86_64), kernel 3.3.4+. The VM I installed is, again, a Debian unstable x86_64. The installation went smoothly; I used an 8GB file as a disk back-end. I went

resizing filesystem in a VM
Hello,
I am using Xen 4.0.1 and Xen 3.2.1 dom0 with Debian Lenny and Squeeze dom0s.
I have a bunch of virtual machines running , all using LVM as backend
storage.
Mostly, an LVM logical volume is mapped to a partition in the VM (eg: xvda1)
I have tried to hot resize the filesystem in the VM without umounting it
but it just do not work... Here is what I did:
- lvextend on the dom0,

[XCP] Console with PV kernels?
All:
I''m currently using the older Python-based Xen tools on a cluster of
machines, but we''re looking to transition to XCP as the platform of choice
for our applications. However, I''ve run into one issue that''s sort of a
blocker: paravirtual Linux domUs boot and run, but the console device is
strangely broken. Most of the output reaches the connected user (some

CentOS 7 kernel console under KVM?
Is there a way to get GRUB2 and the kernel to run a "serial" console
under KVM?
I'm running a Fedora 20 desktop, with libvirt-managed VMs. When I run a
CentOS 6 VM, I can set both the boot loader and kernel up to use ttyS0
and get a console compatible with "virsh console".
When I try the same with a CentOS 7 VM, it doesn't work. If I set it to
ttyS0, I just

reg dom0 console
Hello All,
After a few months of hiatus, we have resumed working on mips port of Xen.
We are at the point of booting dom0 userland (init process and its
children).
The init process gets spawned and in turn forks off processes to run
commands in /etc/rc.d/init.d/rcS. However, the getty process does not seem
to run subsequently and hence the login prompt is not displayed. Dom 0 does
not use the

Note: I could simply direct boot the appropriate kernel/initrd to get
the alpha1 installation going as always done in the past, but I think
this should work. The Debian alpha 1 installer page says it should.

using maxmem
Hi,
I am using xen 4.0.1 from debian Squeeze repositories and dom0 has
kernel 2.6.32-5-xen-amd64(also stock debian).
I wanted to set a high value to maxmem in my xmdomain.cfg vm config
files so that I can increase memory as needed without rebooting.
Unfortunately as soon as I set this paramater I see really wiered things.
For example, I am trying to install a windows HVM guest. When maxmem is

freshly installed Debian Lenny AMD64 system, and when I create a
Debian Lenny DomU with xen-tools I cannot attach to a console nor log

# xm create -c test.cfg
the system starts booting, but it seems to "freeze" after the kernel has booted.
Googling a bit, shows that I seem to have the problem

migrating to dovecot
Hello,
I am trying to setup a migration scenario from an proprietary solution
to dovecot IMAP/POP3.
Whereas am only at the strating point, things appear quite complicated
because of the following reasons:
- The proprietary solution uses special/own/proprietary mailbox format
(wich is more like maildir but is not maildir)
- I don't have direct access to the filesystem where the mails are
