XAPI on debian installation issue
Hi, I''m currently trying to install xapi on debian (unstable), following the following wiki page: http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/XAPI_on_debian 1. Install squeeze 32-bits (it''s not specified on the wiki, but I guess it wont work with 64-bit as the xapi *.deb files are for 32). note: you must leave an unused 1mb partition somewhere when creating your

Dom0 <> DomU clock sync
Hello ! Just a quick question about time synchronization between xen dom0 and domUs... We''re running Xen 3.1 64-bit, with 32 and 64 bits linux guests. It''s up since 89 days and the domU''s time is around 5 minutes behind the dom0, which is updated via ntpdate... Any idea why it doesn''t sync the guests even that /proc/sys/xen/independent_wallclock is 0 ?

Re: Re: XAPI on debian - sr-create issue
You''re right scout the last line. Out looks like xapi is waiting on tapdisk to plug a key into xenstore. Perhaps a udev rule problem? Perhaps someone who knows more about tapdisk than I well be able to diagnose this tomorrow. Mike Sent from Samsung tablet Sébastien RICCIO <sr@swisscenter.com> wrote: Of course, here it is attached. xen 4.1.1 + 3.0.0-rc5 dom0 + blktap2
Hi, I''m currently trying xen 4.1.1 with the 3.0.0-rc5 (heard that it now contains the xen code to run as front or back xen domain). Everything seems to run fine, except that I am trying since a few hours to mount a .vhd file in the dom0. What I tried so far: to create a blank vhd file (this is working): host# vhd-util create -n /storage/test.vhd -s 20G Then i try to mount the file

Xen 3.0.4 - Ballooning
Hi, Maybe it''s a dumb question, but I''m actually trying to understand how the memory allocation works within Xen. I try to give 128MB to a domU and see if it increases for example when I "nano" a 500mb file, but the process just get killed when it reachs the 128MB memory limit. How do I configure the guests so they can ask for more memory until a limit is reached

llvm.natvis should be included when generating LLVM.sln
As of Visual Studio 2015, natvis files can be included as part of individual projects <http://blogs.msdn.com/b/vcblog/archive/2015/09/28/debug-visualizers-in-visual-c-2015.aspx>, a much better method than manually copying the file to an specific directory in %USERPROFILE%. I think it should be included in one of the CMakeLists.txt files, does anybody know how I can add it? Sincerely,

lit conditional compilation/checking?
How can I platform-conditionally compile/check sections of code with lit? Can I rely on preprocessor defines like _WIN32? Specifically, I'm adding new tests to existing lit tests, but the new tests should only be compiled and run on Windows. Code in headers
While investigating compile times, I noticed that there's no information in the LLVM coding standards about code in headers. Many LLVM/Clang headers have lots of complex code in headers - I'm specifically looking at the Static Analyzer projects (seemingly slowest compile times, biggest hinderance to my productivity) - that probably doesn't need to be there. Nobody likes slow compile

Code in headers
That makes sense. Someone should stick it in the coding standards? it's just thankless work Absolutely, but since slow compile times (can) nuke my productivity, I may move some code out of headers. Redundant Twine->StringRef->Twine conversions in llvm::sys::fs::make_absolute?
llvm::sys::fs::make_absolute converts its first parameter (const Twine &current_directory) to StringRef p(path.data(), path.size()), and then passes that StringRef to several functions (path::has_root_directory, path::has_root_name, and path::append) that accept Twines as parameters. Since llvm::StringRef can implicitly convert to an llvm::Twine, p converts to a bunch of Twine temporaries. In

How can I take/revert snapshot of a VHD image
Hi there, I''m running several VMs within Xen, and now I''m trying to create/revert snapshots of my VMs. Along with Xen and blktap2, another utility, vhd-util is also delivered, and according to its description, i guess I can use it to create/revert VM snapshots. To create a snapshot is actually easy, I just call |vhd-util snapshot -n aSnapShot.vhd -p theVMtoBackup.vhd | But

why are qemu-img and vhd-util created files incompatible?
I was wondering if someone can shed some light on why vhd files created with qemu-img don''t really work right with vhd-util and consequentially blktap in general. To validate the incompatiblity its simple enough to do qemu-img create -f vpc test.vhd 40g vhd-util snapshot -n child.vhd -p test.vhd Which will show the below and then the headers don''t display the BATMAP summary:

[PATCH] vhd-util create: add -C|nocow option
Add ''-C'' (nocow) option to vhd-util create. Btrfs has terrible performance when hosting VM images, even more when the guest in those VM are also using btrfs as file system. One way to mitigate this bad performance is to turn off COW attributes on VM files (since having copy on write for this kind of data is not useful). According to ''chattr'' manpage, NOCOW

I''m getting this message (subject line) in daemon.log every time I start or restart xend. I''m not sure if this is related to the fact that I cannot boot up my Windows domU from a VHD file. The Windows domU was working fine with Xen 4.0.0 (with 2.6.32.14 dom0 kernel). When I upgraded to Xen 4.0.1-rc4 (with 2.6.32.16 dom0 kernel), I can no long boot the Windows domU from VHD. The
