Multiple tagged VLAN's in Xenserver
I want to know, is it possible for an external network added in xenserver, to be part of multiple Vlans? If so, what are the commands to do the same.? -- Regards, Manoj R _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

XCP 1.1 VLAN setup
Dear XCP lovers, We have installed XCP 1.1 on our BladeCenter and it is working like a charm. Except when creating a VLAN, the xenserver needs to be switched to bridge mode and back to openvswitch. As I understood, this is a bug in xenserver 5.6 SP2 and will be fixed in the xencenter 6.0 which will come with XCP 1.5. Is there a date when the beta version will be released ? Concerning our VLAN

[XCP] Network confusion
Hello, I am using XCP 1.0 and am accessing it with XenCenter. I have three NIC''s and I have bonded two of them through the XenCenter frontend. I then create a VLAN using XenCenter and attach it to the bond0. I create a VM and create its NIC to use VLAN 10, which it does and when the VM boots the NIC shows Active inside of XenCenter. When I look at the XCP host it shows VLAN 10 as an

network redundancy via two nics, two routers?
Hi List, I'm trying to configure two switches to provide redundancy (i.e. in case one switch goes down), and am wondering if there is a standard way to configure a CentOS box to use different gateways in a bonded interface, depending upon which physical nic is being used? A bit more detail might help answer the "And why do you want to do that?" questions... - Switch 1,

[XEN-user-list] XENServer 6 losing xapi after restart
I am a consultant needing to learn virtual machines. Using XEN Server 6 as tool. I will put real internet servers on it when stable. Been working fine till it crashed out of the blue. This problem is from a full wipe and reload. Problem: 1. Build XEN Server 6. Works fine after install reboot. 2. Reboot XEN Server. Big message "The underlying Xen xapi is not running"

Can I bridge a bonded and vlan tagged interface directly to a guest?
I am running CentOS 5.3 x86_64 as my dom0 and CentOS 5.3 on my domU's. On the dom0, I have two interfaces that are bonded and have tagged VLANs. I can get the networks to the domU's by creating a bridge for each of the VLANS (bond0.3, bond0.4, etc). On the domU, the interfaces show up as eth0, eth1, etc. Is there a way to set up the network on the dom0 so my domU's see a single

Need help with Linux networking interfaces and NIC bonding
Hello everyone I am running into some strange issues when configuring networking interfaces on my physical server running Centos 7.5. Let me give you an overview of what's going on: We have a physical server, running CentOS 7.5. This server has one 4 port NIC and one 2 port NIC and a Dell IDRAC port. The first port of the 4 port NIC, em1, is used for Management traffic. The first port of

Shared Storage on Xenserver 5.6
Hi. I''m new to Xenserver. I have to configure high availability between two Xenservers I have attached a rough sketch. The licensing that has been purchased is for "Advanced". I want to use shared storage, where both the Xenservers use a common LUN. The virtual machines will "live" on this LUN. I want the virtual machines to be running on one Xenserver. If this

Vyatta ISO in DomU
A friend of mine recommended checking out the Vyatta project. I was reviewing their website and saw endorsements of their product running on both Vmware and Xen. In fact, they have a Vmware virtual image and a beta XenServer image. However, I am running a typical Debian Lenny 64 DomU installed through the repositories. According to their installation documents, it states that the ISO can be

[Bridge] bridge is not forwarding the packet
Hi Rahul, If you're certain that your problem isn't as Stephen suggested, you might want to have a look at this: --- (From http://ebtables.sourceforge.net/brnf-faq.html <http://ebtables.sourceforge.net/brnf-faq.html> ) How do I let vlan-tagged traffic go through a vlan bridge port and the other traffic through a non-vlan bridge port? Suppose eth0 and eth0.15 are ports of br0.

XCP vs XenServer (free edition) or is it XCP mature enough?
Hello, I am a system manager of a datacenter. Is this moment, we about 30-40 xen servers running 2 or 3 domUs each of them. We are now using (standalone) xen over debian lenny. We manage each xen server independently, but we are looking for a central management console. At this moment, I have the doubt about using citrix xenserver (the free edition) or XCP. XCP - xenserver tools required?
One of the issues I''ve had using XenServer in a multitenant environment is the requirement for the VMs to have xentools installed as it causes significant issues when upgrading the VM OS or the pool from one version of XenServer (XCP) to another. Having to touch hundreds VMs (by hand) after an upgrade just doesn''t scale nor is delegating the task to VM owners an option.
