Rails Recipes: Drag'n'Drop Sortable List with unique index?
Hi all
On page 31 of the "Pragmatic Programmer''s Rails Recipes" book there''s
the recipe "Creating a Drag-and-Drop Sortable List". I think this is
very useful, but sadly I have a unique constraint on my product_id and
position fields (because the acts_as_list scope is product_id).
When I try the recipe then Rails crashes very very badly: I have to

deadlock possiblity introduced by "drm/nouveau: use drm_mm in preference to custom code doing the same thing"
Hi
Patch "drm/nouveau: use drm_mm in preference to custom code doing the same thing"
in nouveau tree introduced new deadlock possibility, for which lockdep complains loudly:

Re: CoreOS support
Unfortunately this is a prebuilt proxmox server which is running on debian wheezy and I cannot even install the latest version of libguesfs because of this.

random crashes
I have a server thats been running fine for a year or two lock up a few
times recently, requiring power cycling.
The /var/log/messages after a lockup last night is appended to this message.
hardware is a pretty typical server, Supermicro X8DTE-F motherboard,
dual Xeon X5650, 48GB ECC memory, LSI SAS 2008 for the boot disks, and
LSI MegaRAID SAS 9261-8i for the data volume. Lots of 3TB

Slow performance
Hello again,
We have hit some performance problem today in one of our clusters. The
performance suddenly drop from the normal performance (about
30Mbytes/s), read/write, to a few Kbytes/s (about 200Kbytes/s), read
only, for a while, and as sudden as it started, it backs to the normal
read/write performance, cycling randomly. When the "read only" occurs
on one node, the other shows only

Possible lock inversion in directory locking
Hi,
I've been playing lately with lockdep annotations of OCFS2. I seem to
have most of the false positives sorted out and currently I hit the report
below.
I've analyzed that ocfs2_extend_dir() does first lock local alloc inode
in ocfs2_reserve_clusters() and then acquires ip_alloc_sem from the
directory. The usual ordering e.g. in ocfs2_write_begin() is to first
acquire ip_alloc_sem

gluster stuck when trying to list a successful mount
Hi all,
My infrastructure is GlusterFS with 2 Nodes:
L137B-GlusterFS-Node1.L137B-root.com
L137B-GlusterFS-Node2.L137B-root.com
I have followed this guide:
http://www.itzgeek.com/how-tos/linux/centos-how-tos/install-and-configure-glusterfs-on-centos-7-rhel-7.html/2
I have created a device, formatted as ext4, mounted it.
The next step was to install gluster FS.
I installed glusterfs 3.10.3,

hang with fsdlm
Using fsdlm/ocfs2_controld.cman, I've rerun the test I've been having problems
with on 2.6.30-rc1. After running for several minutes in the same directory
on three nodes, the test hangs, and I collect the following information:

the bug is still reproducible with the latest kernel and Xen packages
from
Debian Wheezy. Unfortunately it seems like a corner case, somehow

3.8-rc2: EFI framebuffer lock inversion...
On 3.8-rc2 with lockdep enabled and dual-GPU setup (Macbook Pro
Retina), I see two releated lock inversion issues with the EFI
framebuffer, leading to possible deadlock: when X takes over from the
EFI framebuffer [1] and when nouveau releases the framebuffer when
being vgaswitcherood [2].
Let me know if you'd like any testing or analysis when I can get the time.
Many thanks,
Daniel

Weird problem with rsync 3.0.9
Hi all,
I'm not sure if this is really rsync related so fell free to ignore this message ;)
I have to server. The first one is rsync server et and the second one the client. The rsync server repo is around 325Go.
Every time my client start rsync, both rsyncd on the server and rsync on the client entered "Uninterruptible sleep" state and I can't figure out why.

usbhid-ups causing hang on boot with 2.6.35 - any ideas?
(Arjen - I apologize if you get two copies, I sent the first one to the old
de-korte.org address)
Arjen, all,
I've run into a usbhid-ups problem with nut on Arch Linux with the new 2.6.35
kernels. (latest is 2.6.35.4-1) For some reason when you get to the udev events
on boot and it tries to load the usbhid-ups driver, it hangs until the 120 sec
timeout occurs and then boot continues but
