[PATCH v2 0/2] v2v: Copy *.dll files since they can be part of the driver (RHBZ#1311373).
Since v1:
- Fix a bug in the calculation of lc_basename. By luck this doesn't
affect anything given the contents of the current ISO.
- Don't copy the WdfCoInstaller*.dll files.

Add Win2008R2 DC to Samba4 domain
Has anyone successfully added a Win2008R2 DC to a Samba4 domain?
The issue I am encountering is the sysvol/netlogon shares are not created. I can manually create them and copy files, but as soon as I demote/forcefully remove the Samba4 server, the Win2008R2 server refuses to serve requests for the domain. I cannot even manage it through ADUC.

Unable to create GPO "Allow log on locally"
Hi,
I've a Samba 4.4.5 AD DC working fine.
But when I try to create a GPO on "Computer Configuration>Policies>
Windows Settings>Security Settings>Local Policies>User Rights
Assignment>Allow Logon Locally" I can add Administrators, Domain Admin
to the listbox but I'm unable to apply.
When I click "Ok" or "Apply" the dialog won't close.

Repadmin fails when querying Samba server 4.7.6
I'm trying to fix a replication error that occurs between Win2008R2
(srvwin) and Samba 4.7.6 DCs (srvsamba).
Event viewer on Win2008R2 server reports that synchronization failed on
a specific Computer object because of schema version misalignment
between servers.
I've then used repadmin to compare failing object on the two servers.
Querying the windows server works but it fails

Remove Win2008R2 from Domain, remove missing DC from domain
Hi!
I'm almost done with a migration from Win2k to Samba4. To get this
going I had to install a Win2008R2 Server as an intermediate server,
now I want to get rid of it.
I found a bug that Win2008R2 can not be demoted from Samba Domain - so
I think I've to remove it somehow else.
But I couldn't find anything about that in the docs and on google.
So anyone out there with a

Migrating user accounts Samba 3.5.3 to Windows 2003 (2008)
Hi all,
I need some help with the following problem:
I need to migrate a bunch of user accounts to another domain on a Windows 2003
server (eventually to 2008R2, but that step seemed to big to do in one go).
To keep all access rights etc. correct, I need to get the SID history set
correctly as well.
From what I've researched so far, I'm aware of

GPLPV on windows 7, clean shutdown not working in some case
We have many domUs windows 7 64 bit on production systems, all with
build gplpv_Vista2008x64_0.11.0.238.msi.
Randomly, during install shutdown monitor service wasn''t created and we

All other things about gplpv are working, someone can help me to solve
this problem please?

[PATCH 0/3] v2v: windows: Use '*.inf' files to control how Windows drivers are installed.
https://github.com/rwmjones/libguestfs/tree/rewrite-virtio-copy-drivers
Instead of trying to split and parse elements from virtio-win paths,
use the '*.inf' files supplied with the drivers to control how Windows
drivers are installed.
The following emails best explain how this works:

[PATCH 0/4] Provide better fake virtio-* test data for virt-v2v.
Patch 1 moves the v2v/fake-virtio-win and v2v/fake-virt-tools
directories to the recently created test-data/ hierarchy. This is
just refactoring with no functional change at all.
Patches 2-4 then extend the available (fake) virtio-win drivers:
- Patch 2 adds all of the drivers from the virtio-win RPM.
- Patch 3 adds all of the drivers from the virtio-win ISO (which are
different from the

I can update and change existing records but not create any new records via the DNS tool on the win2008R2 server. However if i

idmap problems after update from 3.0.33 to 3.6.6
Hello,
we are using a standalone samba server, which is a Win2008R2 domain member.
The access rights on the shares are set with acl's.
After the update I could access the shares. But if i take a look to the
rights on the shares with "getfacl" I see only numbers instead of usernames
and groups. Then I did a "getent passwd".There are now other numbers mapped
to the users as

Problem with Samba re-share of a CIFS mount
Premise: I posted the same question to the linux-cifs mailing list. I
absolutely don't want to cross-posting, but I am not sure if the problem
is related to the cifs client or to the Samba server. If you think that
this post is an unnecessary duplicate, feel free to delete it.

Let first explain my network
