[HOWTO] Running Xen 4.0 host (dom0) with Redhat Enterprise Linux 6 (RHEL6)
Hello,
If you''re interested in running Xen 4.0 hypervisor/dom0 on RHEL6,
take a look at here: http://wiki.xen.org/xenwiki/RHEL6Xen4Tutorial
It explains steps needed to rebuild Xen 4.0.1 src.rpm from Fedora on RHEL6,
and how to fetch dom0 capable 2.6.32.x kernel from upstream git repository.
It also shows how to get libvirt/virt-manager working with Xen on RHEL6.
Hopefully it helps :)

Customizing Centos
Hi,
I want to ask you is it legal to create my own distribution based on Red Hat/Centos and to sell it under different name? I will make available for everyone to see the source code. Is this against the license agreement?
regards
Peter

how to enable Flow Control on CentOS?
Hi,
I have an interesting situation with one of our switches. It's a
D-Link DGS-3100, 24 port 10/100/1000 Layer 2 Managed switch with some
CentOS servers connected to it. On many of the servers I need to
disable Flow Control on the switch's ports otherwise the CentOS
server's doesn't connect to the switch. i.e. the Switch indicates that
the LAN cable is unplugged and CentOS can

Patches to enable MTUs >1500 in el5.6 ready for testing.
Hi all,
With help from others, I''ve been able to get Olaf''s patch for enabling
MTUs >1500 for vifX.y and tapZ devices working. I''ve been able to boot
dom0, launch domU and live-migrate without having the bridge''s MTU
degrade at any time.
Would the Xen RPM maintainers (and others) mind taking a look at the
following patches?

Newbie Trying XEN with CENTOS 5.6 dom0
Hi All,
After digging through the xen wiki, the recommendation I have found so far
for first time virtualization testing of XEN is to use Centos.
Do I get to choose which XEN hypervisor version I want to run?...e.g if I
want the latest (XEN 4.1)
At the moment I am using a liveCD - feeling my way around Linux
environment (newbie here as well)...
Any pointers to set me in the right direction

Problem in linux domU re: /dev/rtc and hwclock
Hi all,
One of our domU VMs (CentOS 5.6 x86_64) runs a cobol application,
which in turn called ''clock'' to get timestamps. Changing this is
non-trivial.
When I try to call ''clock --debug'' I get:
[root@vm0010 ~]# clock --debug
hwclock from util-linux-2.13-pre7
hwclock: Open of /dev/rtc failed, errno=19: No such device.
No usable clock interface found.

is it safe to resize root, on an LVM system, online?
Hi,
One of our servers has a too small root partition on LVM and needs to
be resized. Can / be safely increased online, without a reboot?

Running VMs concurrently
Hi:I am stuck here. I want to run two VMs (linux and window) concurrently. When I run them separately one at a time it works fine. But when I do xm create vm1.cfg then the domU starts and again if I do xm create vm2.cfg it just stucked and need to restart it. I am using live cd for vm2. I am guessing I am missing some steps here. I will appreciate your help.
Thank you

No eth0 on centos 6.2
Just installed centos 6.2. I run and ifconfig -a I see and em1
em2 and lo interface. If I go to /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts,
I don't see an ifcfg-eth0. If I run ifup eth0 it comes back
with "Device eth0 does not seem to be present, delaying
initialization". Anybody have a clue? Thanks in advance.

Advice sought: Virtual Win7 on Centos 6.2
Folks
I have a new laptop running Centos 6.2 64-bit. I'd like to put a
virtual machine running Windows 7 (licensed), with full audio/video
functions, and good response. Which virtual system would you
recommend? I can think of KVM, or VirtualBox, or ...?
The "good response" requirement pretty much excludes a web-style
video presentation.
Opinions solicited.

virt-manager like tool for Android
Hi all,
I use virt-manager as a way to give customers direct access to their
(virtual) servers. This is important for things like OS installs or when
do admin work where the network is down. This means I have to install a
little linux machine though as none of my clients are linux shops.
So I got to wondering; If I understand, virt-manager is more or less
a hypervisor-aware VNC client,

OT: Recommendation for a good Internationalized terminal software
Hi all,
We've got server-based application that runs on CentOS. Until now,
most of our customer's end-users have accessed the application using
either PuTTY or Teraterm. I was asked yesterday to try and find
internationalized add ons or alternatives for our new Asian customers
(Japan, Korea and China atm).
I figured if anyone would be able to recommend terminal emulation

Announcing a new HA KVM tutorial!
Almost exactly two years ago, I released the first tutorial for building
an HA platform for KVM VMs. In that time, I have learned a lot, created
some tools to simplify management and refined the design to handle
corner-cases seen in the field.
Today, the culmination of that learning is summed up in the "2nd
Edition" of that tutorial, now called "AN!Cluster Tutorial 2".

Looking for a CentOS-friendly online backup company
Hi all.
We've got a lot of customers running CentOS 5 and 6 servers. We've
been asked by many to provide backup, which is something we don't want
to do in house. So we started looking for backup companies to partner
with. The problem is that the ones we've found who support RHEL won't
support CentOS.
So does anyone know of an online backup company that _will_
