Bug#687319: xcp-storage-managers: CDROM VDIs don't hotplug in guests because ISO SRs are misconfigured
Package: xcp-storage-managers
Version: 0.1.1-2ubuntu1
Severity: normal
This bug prevents CDROM VDIs from being hotplugged into guest
VMs. The issue is that the NFS ISO SR configures the ISO VDIs to
be 'file' types, which it should configure them to by 'phy'
types. This breaks on Debian's Xen because the Debian hotplug
scripts are more robuse than the ones on XenServer, and

XCP jumbo frames in vm
Hello all,
Not sure if I am completely missing something but here goes. I have
XCP 1.0 running without any issues. I have the mtu set on both the
storage network, the corresponding PIF, and the VIF to 9000 and when
displayed in ifconfig it shows that this is indeed true. I have
several CentOs 5.6 VMs running in HVM mode (i.e. no xen kernel) which
attach to the the storage network through these

XCP: disk2vhd -> xenconvert (to ovf) -> xe vm-import
Hi all,
I`m evaluating methods for nightly "snapshot" a physical win2003 to
xcp vm.
I know it would be a lot easier and reliable just to to one convert
one time and start to generate real vm snapshots, but at this time I
cannot use this method.
I tested the sequence: disk2vdh -> xenconvert (to xcp), but a big
deal of using this method is that xenconvert does not send

XCP 1.0, Guest access to local device.
I''m looking to expose a(several) drive "/dev/sda" that is physically to the
XCP host to a pv guest running locally.
I know this would tie the VM, which lives in a remote SR, to this specific
XCP host that this local disk.
I''m not looking to create a VHD file on this local drive and use it as a
disk in the VM.
I''m looking to expose entire physical disks to

Errors attaching VBDs to dom0 VM
Hi,
I''ve been touring XCP and making my way around it for the last few
days, and am having problems with some reasonably straightforward
actions. I''ve poured a several hours into different ways of resolving
the issue, but am coming up short.
Here''s the main issue. The following command (plugging in a VBD to
the dom0 VM), when, run, hangs for several minutes, and then

Bug#674088: xcp-xapi: vbd-plug to dom0 does not creates /dev/xvd* devices in dom0
Package: xcp-xapi
Version: 1.3.2-6
Severity: normal
Tags: upstream
Normally (in 'iso-based' XCP) is possible to attach VDI to dom0.
That operation usually looks like:
xe vbd-create vdi-uuid=... vm-uuid=(dom0 uuid) device=N
xe vbd-plug
I done those steps in xcp-xapi and got success (no error), but no xvd* device found.
Here operations log:
# xe vbd-create

how to share vdi among several xcp pools
hi
I am having several pools of xcp with NFS shared storage as default SR
on each pool and i want to do following in this arrangement
-I want to share vdis among all pools, i.e. for example if I want to
detach a vdi from a vm in pool-1 to a vm in pool-2.
so is this possible to do so?
vdi export is one of the solution but i want to do it seamlessly just
like it happens within the same pool or

[Xen-API] 2TB limitation - bug?
When creating a vdi with "xe vdi-create", there is a 2TB size
limitation imposed, presumably because the default uses VHD, which has
this limit.
However, when a raw LVM partiton is created with the
sm-config:type=raw option, this limitation doesn''t make any sense.
Could the 2TB limit please be lifted when sm-config:type=raw is used?
Thanks,

XCP - Reclaim diskspace from snapshots on xcp 1.0
Hi list,
Saw that there''s a patch for xenserver 5.6fp1 which should fix this:
http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX129267
Anybody know if/when this will happen on XCP?
I have the same problem - disk usage remains the same after snapshot
deletion - this is in the log on the pool master:

XCP vs Xen on CentOS and Dell OpenManage
Hello,
I just tried out XCP and I was surprised to see it looks pretty much
like Xen from Citrix. Based on the RPM packages installed, I assume
XCP is based on RHEL5.
With that in mind, I have a few questions that I did not find an
answer on the web... Perhaps I didn''t look in the right places, so if
you know about any good documentations that I should read please share
it :)

Regarding SR Reattchemnet in XCP 1.5
I created a NFS VHD SR(\nfs\xxxx-yyyy-zzzz-wwww) on host “A” and created
set of disks(vhds).
I de-attached the SR from “A” and attached to host “B”.
Host B seeing all the disks. Its working up to that fine.
But I again de-attached the SR and attached to host A, it shows no disks in
that SR.
While reattaching to host “A” it shows the SR existing but after attached
nothing comes.
