Route problem
I have an index.rhtml is rendered when the (main)controller is loaded.
The page contains some check boxes and a submit button. See form code
below. When I click the submit button, I get a 404. I don''t know how to
post this data back to my controller where method "addvisit" is waiting.
It works in WEBrick no problem, but doesn''t work in fcgi on DreamHost.

pass checked boxes to controller
Noobie question here. :)
I have a form with check boxes on them. I simply want the user to check
the appropriate boxes, click the action (Add Visits). It''s my
understanding, that these check box values go into a hash
(add_visit_for_this_Pt), but I can''t seem to get this hash back to my
controller for processing. Below is my form.
Basically, all the controller is

How to use a form.check_box ?
Hey guys,
I''m trying to have a simple webform in my administration section to
add a user. I have the text_fields for adding the user''s name,
password, and password confirmation, but cannot seem to figure out the
checkbox. I want it to be a single checkbox, that if clicked, will set
the database column "access" to be "admin" and if its unchecked, set
it to be

check_box_tag is limited?
Hello all.
Am I going totally nuts here and just want to check (Natch!) something.
A normal check_box has two value posssibilities. One for checked and one
for unchecked, the value gets submitted with a form.
The check_box_tag on the other hand, has a checked_value (Called just
''value'') and for the unchecked value...nothing, zip, nada.
This means that if you submit a form with

Howto: Check_box with a variable (no model)
Hi,
I would like to put a checkbox on a form where the input field is a
variable rather than a field in a model.
The normal way (with a model) would be:
<%= check_box(''client'', ''accept'', {}, "1", "0") %>
But since accept is a variable @accept and model client will not be
there, how do I make a check box work?

<td>
<%checked = book.subscribed ? ''checked'': ''nope''%>
<%=check_box("book" + book.id.to_s,

Getting check_box to default to checked?
I''ve tried this (in a new method/template -- so @type doesn''t actually
exist yet):
check_box ''type'', ''notify_on_create'', {:checked=>''true''}
But :checked seems to get swallowed. I''ve also tried setting
notify_on_create to true in the Type model, but that doesn''t work
either. Any way to get the

HTML generation w/out browser Interpretation
I just recently moved my web application to production mode and
published it online. While everything functioned ok locally, I have a
very bizarre error now affecting my application. One of my
controllers, Work, is not behaving properly. Whenever I call the
action new, create, edit, or update I get all of the HTML generated to
my browser (this happens in Firefox, Camino, and Safari) but the

Dreamhost uploading
I haven''t had a chance to upload my app and configure dreamhost, but I
did log in and create the folder using the "rails app_name" command.
Now, my question is, I read online to do this:
> cd domain.com
> rails my_app_name

application is in a sub-directory under "domain.com"?
Essentially,
