trouble launching vm''s
Hello,
I must be missing something very very basic. Because I am having
trouble launching some vm''s that I recently built whereas I don''t have
any problem at all launching some older images I made in very much the
same way!
First there is vm01 which works just fine:
[root@lcent5-1:/etc/xen]$:xm create vm01
Using config file "./vm01".

Issue with computer accounts with classicupgrade
No sorry, really no idea for this.
But i'll try a wild guess...
If you have a test setup, try the following.
keep the computer UIDs and change the user uids.
i did read this somewhere.
samba generates SIDs the same way as you would normally generate GUID's and store them in a database.
maybe this sid change because of the change uid.

Louis

Issue with computer accounts with classicupgrade
I have an old Centos5/Samba3.5 domain with LDAP backend that I am
attempting to migrate to the latest Samba 4.2 on Centos 7.1. Samba in
both cases has been installed using Sernet packages.
I had successfully run the classicupgrade process, but in subsequent
testing found that in the 3.5 domain all the computer accounts have the
posixAccount class and therefore have a uidNumber.

pseudo R-squared with likfit (geoR)
We want to compute a pseudo R-squared for a model whose parameter
estimation was based on maximum likelihood (function likfit, package geoR).
I tried to compute the R2 proposed by Maddala (1983) which compare the
maximized likelihood for the model without any predictor and the
maximized likelihood for the model with all predictors.
I got a really low value (0,01%). Did I miss something? Are

GSSAPI and deny=yes passdb
Hi. Is it possible to use GSSAPI authentication and deny passdb
together? Seems it doesn't work as I expect: GSSAPI doesn't check deny
passdb, so I'm not able to restrict access to GSSAPI-users.
I can see these in logs when user tries to connect with PLAIN
authentication (via pam_krb5):

Why the data got from "top" and "xentop" are different?
Hi All,
I''m a beginner in Xen. Recently I''ve configured one VM (vm03) hosted in my
physical machine. I ran the "netperf" workload in the vm01, and used the
"top" command in the vm03 to test the behavior of the running workload.
Meanwhile, I also used the "xentop" command in domain0 to see the resource
consumption in vm03. Interestingly, I found that

error creating Centos 5.1 x32 dum_U instance on CentOS 5.1 x64
Hi all
This is the first time I try and get Xen working, and want to install a
few CentOS 5.1 32bit and FreeBSD 6.1 VM's on my CentOS 5.1 x64 server.
Trying to get the first one to install is rather trivial, and I keep on
running into errors. At fist I wanted to install it fro the cdrom, so I
used "virt-install --cdrom=/dev/hdc" It booted up, and I could choose my
language, but

Well, take it over to CentOS-virt, attach the config of the guest and I'm sure someone will spot the problem.

Nah, RHEL 5.1+ supports 32-bit domU (PAE and non PAE) on 64-bit dom0.
Actually RHEL Xen is 3.1 with the brain damaged 3.0 userland utilities.

I'm trying to get Dovecot and Postfix working on Ubuntu 12.04LTS but am not having much luck.
The problem is that although mail gets delivered to the correct place, however pointing a MUA of any description at Dovecot just yields a purportedly empty

Now I am using Xen-4.0.0. I need to attach CDROM from ISO files to vitual
