HVM + IGD Graphics + 4GB RAM = Soft Lockup
I''m having an issue forwarding through an Intel on-board graphics adapter. This is on a Dell Optiplex 780 with 8GB of RAM. The pass-through works perfectly fine if I have 2GB of RAM assigned to the HVM domU. If I try to assign 3GB or 4GB of RAM, I get the following on the console: [ 41.222073] br0: port 2(vif1.0) entering forwarding state [ 41.269854] (cdrom_add_media_watch()

Query - Issue creating VMs when not using bridge that Xen created, but using ovswitch.
*Hello,* I have installed Xen as Hypervisor with OpenSUSE running in Dom0. I want to use ovswitch (ovs) instead of the bridges that Xen created. In order to do so, I installed ovs in dom0 just like for the plain Linux. Xen has replaced eth0 with peth0, and has created a bridge named eth0. And eth0 is connected peth0 interface , vif2.0 interface (VM), and everything is working fine. Now I delete

Re: Re: Unable to pass device to IOMMU
Sorry to duplicate my issues onto the list - I thought I had looked through this thread before and seen a different error, but apparently Adam and I are running into much the same thing. I'm seeing exactly the same "Failed to assign device to IOMMU" along with the "Device not owned by PCI Back End or pci-stub" in these scenarios. I have not gone back to previous versions,

Winamp
Hi Folks, I'm looking for a Winamp plugin to play Speex files. On the Speex Plugins and software page the "Winamp and Cool Edit Plugins = Written by Case" link is dead. Anybody knows where else I can find such a plugin? Please can you test any links before referring - I've been also lead to dead links by looking through messageboards that I came across on Google search.

Problem about RLock when starting VMs in parallel
Hi, Here is a question about starting of subsequent VMs. In the function of "start" from the class of XendDomain which is in the module of xen.xend.XendDomain, there's a pair of operations acquiring and releasing threading.RLock, which is like following: def domain_start(self, domid, start_paused = True): self.domains_lock.acquire() ....

Fw: Winamp
Hi Shane and all on the list, Thanks - I already have the Ogg Vorbis encoder (oggenc.exe). I am looking to send voice messages to a friend in India and they have terrible connections. I just need to communicate with him quickly and easily from time to time which is why I'm hoping to compress voice with Speex. There's an encoder called Speexenc.exe which I already have, now I only need

[ANNOUNCE] Unofficial icecast-kh and libtheora Debian Sarge packages
Hi, I hope this is useful for some of you: I'm just finished building unofficial debian packages for icecast2 and libtheora for Sarge (stable). The idea behind this is to keep all the servers which take part on the GISS stream-ring in sync, running the same version of icecast2 kh branch, thus having a common ground for testing and debugging, and stay always on the cutting-edge of

Xen VMs with NAT
Hi list, I am struggling trying to setup my Xen box. So far I am able to start a VM, log into it, and install a webserver. I only have the option for NAT, as my hosting provider doesn''t allow for bridge mode. Here are my config files: * On Dom0: * *************** In /etc/xen/xend-config.sxp: ---------------------------------------- (network-script network-nat) (vif-script vif-nat)
