SRIOV test on Xen with Intel 82576
Hi, I am working of Intel 82576 device to test the SRIOV functionality. I want to assign VFs to a VMs(domU) and verify the control and data path. I installed Xen-unstable with 2.6.30-rc3(dom0). But the SRIOV functionality isn''t working, because MSI is not supported. Please let me know, what version of Xen and dom0 supports above functionality? Is there any tool available to manage SRIOV

[libvirt] SRIOV configuration
Hello, We encountered a problem while testing SRIOV on kubevirt [1]: We are currently using the Device "hostdev" generic options to pass-through the VF to the guest. It is not done through the "interface" (with type hostdev) because that option requires access to the PF which is not available in our case (the VF is moved to the container namespace where libvirt runs, but not

automatically detaching PCI host devices from guest for SRIOV usage.
Dear List , We are using intel 82599EB based SRIOV capable 10GbE cards on the host machine. The VFs are being assigned to the guest in pass through mode and are providing the network connectivity as expected. However when we shutdown the guest the connectivity does not comes back via the VFs on the guest in next boot unless the VFs are detached from the *guest* *before* initiating a shutdown of

POOL of SRIOV networks with multiple PFs
We are using an Intel 82599 chip that allows 4 PFs ( eth0..3) per VM. I am able to manually start VMs using the hostdev definition for the four network connections, but I'd like to start using the pool approach. Ubuntu 12.04 libvirt 1.0.0 Following: http://wiki.libvirt.org/page/Networking#Assignment_from_a_pool_of_SRIOV_VFs_in_a_libvirt_.3Cnetwork.3E_definition I can get a pool working with

[RFC PATCH v01] Xen PVSCSI drivers for pvops xen/stable-2.6.32.x kernel
Hello, http://pasik.reaktio.net/xen/patches/xen-pvscsi-drivers-linux-2.6.32.27-pvops-v01.diff This is the first version of Xen PVSCSI drivers, both the scsiback backend and scsifront frontend, ported from Novell SLES11SP1 2.6.32 Xenlinux kernel to pvops xen/stable-2.6.32.x branch. At the moment it''s *only* compile-tested with the latest xen/stable-2.6.32.x git kernel as of today

How to use PV on HVM
Hi, I am trying to setup Xen to use "PV on HVM". For this, I did the following. (1) I followed the tutorial at http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/Fedora13Xen4Tutorial to setup Xen4.0.1 on Fedora13. I am able to run virt-manager and create a Fedora 13 guest. (2) I followed the tutorial at http://bderzhavets.wordpress.com/2010/05/27/pv-on-hvm-at-xen-4-0-on-top-of-fedora-13/to use PV on

making scsi disks visible to RHEL 5 guest
Hi, I created an HVM type virtual machine and installed RHEL5U7 guest in it. I have assigned 7 scsi disks to the virtual machine in physical mode (using phy:), however, I see those disks are xvd and not as scsi. Is anyone aware what the problem might be ? Please let me know what kind of information do I need to post in order to narrow down to the problem. Thanks, K

Xen HVMs run VERY slowly on SAN box
We are running a 2-node cluster with Debian Squeeze (2.6.32-5-xen-amd64) and Xen 4.0.1 on the dom0 and Ubuntu lucid domUs. We are now using fully virtualized (HVM) vms. In our configuration the dom0 administers to domUs created and run on a SAN box accessed via private network (192.168...). A sample configuration file is pasted below. We have had little or no IO problem with HVMs created and

dom0 CPU pinning and xm weighting
Wondering if I can get some opinions on dom0 CPU pinning and xm weighting. We have several xen servers on SLES11SP1 and up to this point we have never done anything with pinning CPU''s to dom0. We''re trying to decide if we should be doing that. Same goes for xm weighting (if I''m saying that correctly). For example, running the following command when a xen server

bridge + SR-IOV guests with KVM
Hi, I managed to get SR-IOV with an Intel I350 NIC to work. For this I followed the documentation on this page: https://wiki.libvirt.org/page/Networking#Assignment_from_a_pool_of_SRIOV_VFs_in_a_libvirt_.3Cnetwork.3E_definition But as I have more VMs then VF on the NIC I also have a bridge wich serves the other guests. As I run Debian Buster as host I followed the documentation here:
