Centos Virtual Machine 32 bit with 8 GB ram ?
Hello,
I have a centos 5.2 core 2 duo 3.0 GHZ with 2 GB ram which is working as a Virtual machine.
i've just upgraded the hosting physical server from 32 GB to 64 GB of ram. which in turn, would require me to upgrade the VM to 8 GB.
this is a 32 bit centos installation, would the system recognize and use the 8 GB?
the option of using a 64 bit centos isnt possible.
So i'm turning to you

I would like confirm one thing. Based on what I saw Redhat document before, look like CENTOS 5 (X86, 32 bits) only support 16 GB RAM.
Is this correct?

32 or 64 bit (4 gb ram)
Is there any real advantage to using 64 bit when I am right at the 4gb
ram threshhold? Nice plans to add more ram.
The machine will just be a backup machie (rsync).
Thanks in advance.

Dom0 Maximum Memory Support
Hi there,
I am running SLES 10 32 bits in PAE modes, I installed 32 GB physical memory, but only find 16GB when booted into Xen kernel in Domain 0.
Is this a constraint for Xen 32 bits PAE?

boot problems with 2.6.23.x on 64-bit dom0
Hello,
I''m trying to boot kernels from the 2.6.23.x line as paravirt domUs,
64-bit xen-3.1.0 and xen-3.1.2 are used on the test boxes. xm create
starts up the domU without any problems according to the logs, however,
the started domU does not output anything apart from a single tab (if I
start it with -c option ), and eats up 100% CPU. Config file of the domU
is as follows:

Kernel types and xen caps : PV/HVM, 32/64 bit, PAE/non-PAE
Hi
Is there a doc/wiki page which explains, the kind of
domu images/appliances/kernels can be run with what
type of dom0 kernels(xen_caps).
For example :
-- Can a 32 bit, non-PAE domU run on 64 bit, PAE dom 0
in PV mode ? (or HVM mode ?)
Are there any checks that can be done before doing the
migration ?
Is there any programmatic way (from python) to find
out if the kernel in a domU disk

32 Bit vs. 64 Bit Linux Server installation
Hi Centos Users
What are the advantages of 64 Bit and respective 32 Bit installation
of Centos? With PAE 32 Bit installation can address huge amount of
RAM. As a desktop system, I prefer 32 Bit installation because of
teething troubles in 64 Bit Linux world.
When would you choose 64 Bit and when 32 Bit? We are running mostly
application and web services.
Is this true that with 32 Bit
