1.6.4.1 - active client evicted
Hi!
We''ve started to poke and prod at Lustre 1.6.4.1, and it seems to
mostly work (we haven''t had it OOPS on us yet like the earlier
1.6-versions did).
However, we had this weird incident where an active client (it was
copying 4GB files and running ls at the time) got evicted by the MDS
and all OST''s. After a while logs indicate that it did recover the
connection

Hiding partitions at boot time
Hi,
My problem is I have a particular system which has Linux (LFS) and
Windows XP on one drive and Windows 10 on a second drive.
I use extlinux to boot my systems and all three systems boot as
expected, however in use I have found unsatisfactory interactions
between the Windows XP and the Windows 10 systems.
My question is:
Is it possible on booting one of the Windows systems to hide

syslinux and btrfs-formatted dos/MBR partition
Hello Gene, thanks for your reply.
Yes BIOS mode. The config wants a menu, which loads fine under ext4
and not under btrfs. Under btrfs I have also tried to remove the
syslinux.cfg file altogether (which should trigger the boot: prompt if
I am not mistaken) and the result is the same: only the copyright line
appears and no prompt.
The three letter sequence is EDD.
The disk is 160GB, here is the

LVM related bug in the GPL PV drivers for Windows?
Dear Xen users!
In case you were struggling with recent version of th gplpv drivers,
I''ve possibly found an LVM related bug in it, and reported to James
Harper. Thats''s the point:
I''ve tested the mentioned version of your driver on top of 32bit
xen-3.2.1 32bit xen-3.3.0 and 64bit xen xen-3.3.0 hypervisors, dom0 was
always an appropriate version of a 32bit PAE kernel,

Booting Linux from Windows
Hello,
because of Windows' hibernation bug I want to boot Linux using the
Windows boot manager. I followed this guide:
http://syslinux.zytor.com/wiki/index.php/Windows_BCD but unfortunately
only "Boot error" is shown when I try to boot Linux.
Layout of the disk looks like this:
/dev/sda1 * 0+ 16- 17- 131072 83 Linux (Linux
boot partition)
/dev/sda2 16+

Mounting an external USB drive
With Centos 5.5, my external USB drive appears to self mount in
that the icon appears on the desktop and when I double click on
it, the files are there. However, I recall that I need to make
an entry in the fstab as well as some other changes.
When I do a
# /sbin/fdisk -l
I learn that the device is /dev/sda1 and the system is HPFS/NTFS
I am not sure what to enter into the file system

syslinux and btrfs-formatted dos/MBR partition
Hello syslinux list,
I have installed Arch over a btrfs-formatted dos/MBR primary
partition* (no btrfs subvolumes, just installing everything including
/boot in the root of the btrfs).
I have been unsuccessful for several days trying to get it to boot
with syslinux (6.02-8 package from Arch, also tried 4.07-1 Arch
package). All I am getting is the copyright header line and a blinking
