Any good guides for installing Asterisk on Embedded systems like Alix boards?
Hi Everyone, Knowing that running Asterisk on an embedded board like the Alix2d3 requires some fine tuning. Do you know of any good guides out there that does this from beginning to end? Looking to run this in a small office environment. Thanks -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

VT-x not found..
Hi Everyone, I upgraded my CentOS 5.5 to Xen 3.4.2 using this guide: http://www.syntaxtechnology.com/2010/01/upgrade-xen-3-0-on-centos-5-4-x86_64-to-xen-3-4-2/ Now, using the new kernel that it gave me, the system doesn''t seem to be able to detect vt-x.. In virt-manager, Local Install Media and Network Boot are greyed out.. Any ideas? Thanks

Asterisk on Pcengines Alix board
Hi all, I have successfully compiled and installed Asterisk on an Alix board (AMD Geode 500 Mhz + 256 Mb RAM) on top of Voyage linux (a Debian variant). I'm using it at home for a month. I wondered how much it could be loaded, so I tested it with pbx-test: I could place up to 15 simultaneous SIP calls before it got no more responsive. All in all a good, stable and cheap solution for home

tinc throughput on alix machines
Hi, I've setup a wlan ap using a an alix 2d2 (AMD Geode LX 500 Mhz + AES Offload) and am now trying to encapsulate the wlan traffic into a vpn (tap bridge). Though even when disabling crypto and digest (there is a crypto engine onboard can be setup to handle tinc encryption), the best throughput I get is aroung 2,9 MByte per second (wget+http) (even if the client is run locally). The network

OpenSSH + GeodeLX + Linux + Cryptodev = Corrupted MAC on input.
Hello, I just set up Debian Lenny on a PCEngines ALIX. This board have a GeodeLX processor with hardware crypto accelerator, so I patched my kernel to get cryptodev support. Everything is fine when playin with openssl, but openssh just crash when a large amount of data is transfered. A small example: alix:~# scp 100meg.test localhost:/dev/null root at localhost's password: 100meg.test

MeetMe() and dahdi_dummy on an embedded system
I'm playing around with an ALIX 2D2 board (http://www.pcengines.ch/alix2d2.htm). It's a fanless, x86 system using an AMD Geode processor with 256MB of RAM. Also available are two network interfaces, two USB ports and one serial port (no keyboard or VGA). I'm using the Voyage Linux distro, which basically is Debian Lenny optimized for this board. Asterisk 1.6.1.12 runs fine on the

Firewall/Gateway Hardware Question
I've given up on getting the other machine to work so I'm looking at building a new one. The machine will be a firewall/gateway running NAT, Web Proxy with Dansguardian, DHCP, DNS, NTP and VPN (~6 clients). I read so much about VPN encryption and the processor needs, now I am unsure if this will work. I can get this for AMD FX-8120 Zambezi 3.1GHz Socket AM3+ 125W Eight-Core Desktop

CF Card wear optimalisation for ext4
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello everyone, I been using CF cards for almost more then 7 years now with ext file-system without any major problems on ALIX boards. Last year I took 30 other systems in production with ext4 and the CF cards been dropping out pretty fast, it may have been a bad batch but I do want to look at it. I don't think the devices writes a lot of IO (is

HVM Network Interfaces
Hi Everyone, In my HVM guest''s config file, I have given my guest 3 interface. I have called them fw1, fw2 and fw3. I have joined each interface to a bridge on the Dom0. This does appear when I do a "brctl show". However, there are 3 other interfaces also added called tapx.0,tapx.1 and tapx.2 (Where x is the domain ID for the guest). Furthermore, I am only able to run

Samba embedded device?
I've been thinking about this for 2 years. I held back waiting for samba 4 DC stability. It was a mistake to wait this long. It seems that AD DC functionality in samba for is really good -- and stable. I was thinking of using Intel NUC devices for this. I am running a school with 3 campuses and about 800 students and 200 facutly of a zotac box running samba 4.1.x. I would love to collaborate

RAM security
Hi Everyone, In Xen, is a DomU able to access data in RAM which a previous DomU has stored in the past, but didn''t "zero" it? I understand that this is a problem with physical disks (using phy:/), just wondering if the same stands with RAM Thanks _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com

Inexpensive device for bandwidth management
Hi, I'm looking for a good network device that does bandwidth management. It can be integrated in a router or stand-alone, but must be SIP-friendly. I`ve tried the DIR-655 (latest firmware is SIP-hostile, and the latest hardware revisions can't downgrade to the version that worked well) and the DI-724GU (SIP-friendly, but bandwidth management is automated and not configurable
