Re: undefined reference to `xen_pcpu_index''
Hi,
This is an issue with older hardware. I never managed to get it resolved and simply stuck Xen 3.3.x on the hardware using the binary copy available from RedHat''s rpm''s.
It''s possible you might be able to look at the srpm''s and find out what RedHat have done to make it compile on the hardware, or it''s possible that Xen 4.x simply doesn''t

Error of building dom0 kernel
Hi all,
I follow instructions(http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/XenParavirtOps) to
build XEN and dom0 kernel. Building XEN has no problem, but there is an
error which I cannot solve to build dom0 kernel. The brief instructions for
building dom0 are get linux-2.6-xen code from git and make ARCH=x86_64
menuconfig, finally generate kernel.deb. (I did every step exactly as the
web page says)

CCISS driver on HP DL380 G3 ?
Hi.
I am trying to boot Xen 2.0.5 on an HP DL380 G3. It won''t. The box has
an "HP Smart Array 5i" that when running normal Linux is handled by the
CCISS driver. I suspect that this is what is not supported in the stock
Xen kernel. Am I correct that I need to build a kernel from source ?

HP DL380 g3
Hi,
Anybody on the list running CentOS 6.3 on the above. If so do you have HP psp 9.10 installed
and working without getting the following error?
cmahealthd[4406]: segfault at f ip 009ff06d sp bfb6fdc4 error 4 in libc-2.12.so[98e000+18c000]
Do you have any version of the psp working without error?
Thanks,

[RFC PATCH] Exporting ACPI Pxx/Cxx states to other kernel subsystems (v1).
Hello,
The following patches are a solution to a problem we have encountered
when using the Xen hypervisor:
- Need Pxx/Cxx states to save on power consumption when using Xen (we
do want those datacenters to consume less power!),
- Also need to figure out the Turbo mode so that the scheduler can properly
boost a core for CPU bound guests.
In essence the Xen hypervisor requires that

preferences in used Compaq Proliant DL380 G1 vrs DL380 G2 etc
greetings,
for those of you in the know, may i have some assistance in helping to make
better decisions in purchasing more used server toys to install CentOS on
please? :-)
in the Compaq Proliant Rackmount DL380 line, the one that looks like the
older 1850R is called a G1 meaning Generation 1 right?
and then the DL380 G2 is a redesign that is gray and just has 6 drive bays
up front correct?

Hi to all out there using HP DL380 G4 servers,
i found a way to get the Digium TE410P with older firmware running on a
HP-Compaq DL380 G4 Server! Here's the step-by-step description:
1. download the latest BIOS (in my case it was 4.04 from date:
06/02/2005) for
the HP-Compaq DL380 G4 using the

HP DL380 G2 does not boot off local disk from PXE boot menu
Hi, all:
I can't make my HP DL380 G2 servers to boot off local disk by using
"default local" line in my PXE boot menu.
For fully automated server setups, I have configured all my DL380
servers to always do PXE boot. By manipulating the default boot option
in boot menu, I can control a server whether to install a new OS via
kickstart or just boot off local disk. This scheme works

TDM400P/FXS in a HP DL380 G5
The HP DL380 G5 (like many rack servers) has no AMP Mate-n-Lok connector
available to attach to a card that needs more power than the PCI bus can
provide, like the TDM400P when FXS modules are used. HP has confirmed that
there is no part they sell to give you such a connector, and Digium says
their business edition folks got it to work, but only by doing nasty
warranty-voiding things to the

centos 6 boot and install on hp dl380 G4
Hello List,
i downloaded centos6 x86_64. With DVD-iso1 i made a booteable usb-stick

When i boot my HP ProLiant DL380 G4 from the stick, the CentOS boot
screen comes up and and the message
"Automatic boot in xx seconds..." appears.
* When i do not hit any key, the seconds are counted to zero an then it
starts again at 10 seconds - again and again.

HP ProLiant DL380 G5
I have CentOS 6.x installed on a "HP ProLiant DL380 G5" server. It
has eight 750GB drives in a hardware RAID6 array. Its acting as a
host for a number of OpenVZ containers.
Seems like every time I reboot this server which is not very often it
sits for hours running a disk check or something on boot. The server
is located 200+ miles away so its not very convenient to look at. Is

CentOS 5.3 installation on HP DL380 R05 server
Hi All
I will need to install CentOS 5.3 on HP DL380 R05 server with RAID-1
required. I am a newbie to CentOS / HP servers, need your help:
- Does CentOS 5.3 work smoothly with HP DL380 server especially
recognizing SAS disks and hardware RAID-1 features? From you experience, do
you have to use HP Storage Drivers provided for RedHat Enterprise Linux 5?
- How is HP

4GB on HP DL380 G4 on FC5 test1
Hi,
We are running FC5 test1 on some HP DL380 G4 servers with the stock xen
and xen kernels supplied in FC5 release.
We have 2 servers, one has 6GB of RAM the other 4GB. Both machines
crash (lock up) on boot, I would have hoped to see 4GB of RAM and
functional Xen in either case. Last message I see is related to PCI
devices, I can try to capture the exact point of crash if it''s

Anyone running Xen on HP DL380 G5? Intel 5150 and 5160 CPU''s?
I''ve got a client demanding the use of HP DL380 G5''s, for various
historical reasons, for a server room. I''m going nuts trying to figure
out if the available CPU''s for them support VT, so I can avoid building
them a separate Windows box.
Unfortunately, the local web proxy is overloaded, so actually browsing
