Samba 3.0.0: option admin user not working in smb.conf?
Hello List! I successfully installed, configured and joined Samba 3.0.0 on Solaris 9 to Windows 2000 Active Directory. I tried to set the option admin user in smb.conf to user (ingres). After doing so the user isn't able to connect or browse to the Samba server anymore. Without this option the user just connects fine and is able to browse the Samba server. The goal is to have the user

ActiveRecord 2.1 Migration support
Hi all, I am in the process of adding Migration support to the Ingres ActiveRecord adapter and have run in to a problem. During the call to create_table the Ingres adapter some how causes ruby to blow the stack and coredump/segv. I have tracked down the problem down to "add_column_options!" in "lib/active_record/connection_adapters/abstract/schema_statements.rb".

OpenSuse 11.2
Hello, I get the X problem with OpenSuse 11.2 with a different card Radeon 1550 but the same Radeon driver. I test the system with an OpenSuse 11.1 (change boot disk) with no problem. With the 11.2 and a "non-XEN" kernel all is OK. I open a bug on bugzilla : https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=552492 with the problem. Regards JP P

Using the Ingres SQL database with R
Dear R Forum members, I am wondering of anyone has used R to pull data from an Ingres SQL database? My initial thoughts would be to use the RJDBC package and Ingres's JDBC driver. Before I get this thing together, has anyone used this combination and can verify that it works, or can forewarn me of any "gotchas" that may be lurking in the shadows? One uncomfortable feature with

Rails db adapter problem - "-- statement #0"
Hi all, I''m working on a database adapter for the Ingres database and I''m having a problem with the Rails tests. The first SQL statement from each of the four SQL files (ingres.sql, etc), is sent to the database with this line first: -- statement #0 and extra blank lines. So the database is getting "sql" that looks like this: " -- statement #0 DROP TABLE

Xen over SuSE 10.3 - Can''t find drive to boot with...
Dear List-Colleagues: I have been working on installing Xen on Suse 10.3 for some time now. I am green as grass - both a total newbie to Xen and a relative newbie to Linux (as well as a total newbie to SuSE). Currently, I am at the point that when I click on the Xen entry in my grub loader I see Xen starting and running through much of its early setup. Eventually, however, it quits on

Hello Looking to build CentOS based micro EC2 instance bootable from Amazon EBS. Want that the image be minimal, so that I can add only the rpms I want. Despite looking could not find a way to import a CentOS image from scratch or an existing minimal CentOS image that is bootable from EBS. My server must must persist, as I cannot handle issues with a dynamic server, so I want to use a server

Repetitive Kernel oops (and two smaller questions)
I have an F7 host that''s running the 2.6.20-2925.11.fc7xen 64-bit kernel on a Dell 2950 using the latest 64-bit Xen packages in F7, 3.1.0-2.f7. I''m trying to install RHEL 5 386 as a guest which I hear is possible. 64-bit RHEL5 isn''t available to use anyway. When I try to paravirtualize the install and only utilize 1 CPU, I always get a kernel oops right before the

Running Debian as DomU
Hello, I just gain experiences in using XEN and hope you can help me. My hostsystem is Centos5 that I installed on a Software-Raid (Level 1). Afterwards I downloaded the debian-tarball from the jailtime.org website, extracted/mounted the image and copied the "*/lib/modules/*<kernelversion>"-folder from my host to the guest. My XEN-Configfile looks like this: kernel =
