Bug: noveau DATA_ERROR / CACHE_ERROR on Quadro NVS 290
Hi, there! Every once in a while / about once a day I have nouveau for a Quadro NVS 290 failing in my system from about kernel 3.10...up to now 3.14, so I finally decided to report this bug as it gets really annoying. After the bug appears, there are some (one per DATA_ERROR line) small 20x20 to 40x40 pixel sized odd shaped white block artefacts stuck on my (dual monitor) desktop. After a restart

Vorbis decoder chip on SparkFun
I'm open to flames if this has already been posted. http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=8300 As of April 17th, SF listed a new Ogg Vorbis decoder chip that is seriously listing for $10 USD. I'm excited. I think I'll buy a couple and integrate them into an IR streaming project I've been tinkering with. -Chris Harrington

Vorbis decoder chip: Specs needed
I'm considering creating an ogg vorbis decoder chip for my senior project in school. At this point, my idea is to have a program (such as XMMS, ogg123, WinAMP) send the encoded ogg bitstream through a USB port to my project, which is then decoded. My project then returns the raw PCM audio, which is then handled by the player program for final audio output. I'm planning on USB as it

NT mode with hfc cards for emulation of internal isdn S0 bus
hi, i just found a page on the net which might me worth some lines. for the urgent reader: http://isdn.jolly.de there is a guy in germany who has successfully programmed a gpl-patch for isdn4linux to make isdn cards with the hfc chipset from cologne chip (http://www.colognechip.com) run in the NT mode (up to 2.4.20). this mode is needed to connect isdn device to a pc and enables the use of

CPU temperature in an PowerEdge 860, LM85 chip
Dear Srs, I'm trying to monitor CPU temperatures in a PowerEdge 860 server, running CentOS 5.1 with 2.6.18-53.1.6.el5 kernel, using lm-sensors v2.10.0. Running "sensors-detect" I get: ====================================================================== (..) We can start with probing for (PCI) I2C or SMBus adapters. You do not need any special privileges for this. Do you want

Syslinux-6.03 getting stuck with kernel boot.
Hi every one, I am trying to load a custom kernel with Syslinux on special purpose pc. Surprisingly Syslinux-4.06 boots my kernel, initrd and finally the OS perfectly from an SD-Card. The problem arises when I use the Syslinux-6.03 where the syslinux hangs right at the beginning After I see the message 'Loading vmLinuz0 ...' I read a few posts on your forums and figured out it has to do

CentOS 6.0: panic installing i386 on old Acer Desktop
Well, after much trial and tribulation I got to the point I could nfs mount the CentOS 6.0 i386 iso image and try an install. So I stuck in the net install CD (latest from CentOS), mounted the nfs iso image and gave it several shots. It goes swimmingly until I click "write disks". Then there's a kernel panic. This with both the graphic and text mode installs. As mentioned,

New decode chip
Hello, The manufacturer Cirrus has launched a chip, the CS7410, which can handle decompression of MP3, WMA and "future formats". It contains an 'audio' 16 bit DSP and an ARM core and is supposed to be a cheap solution, IE to be put into cheap $50 CD players. Here's the link to the article on it:

Opus implementation on Nordic chip
Hi I’m currently trying to implement the Opus codec on a nRF 52 DK (from Nordic). One main goal of my project is a low power application that can record and send audio data (16+ kHz) over BLE. Therefore, the Opus audio codec would be suitable to encode audio data, send it over BLE and decode it on another chip. Unfortunately, I have some trouble implementing it. There are different parts to the

rpm question
Hi everyone, I am writing a small tool that will compare a file on my machine with the the same file on an rpm repository and then give me a diff. E.g. # rpm-file-diff /etc/samba/smb.conf will show a diff output so that I can see at a glance what changes I have made to my local smb.conf file. I already know about rpmdiff but that compares whole packages and not files. Anyway while fiddling

Chip set support
Hi folks. I,m thinking of purchasing an ASUS mother board with this chip set in it. NVIDIA? nForce? 430 MCP Lan= NVIDIA? nForce? 430 MCP built-in Gigabit MAC with external Attansic PHY. Any one know how well the chip set is supported. Any comments? Thanks John -- Guy Fawkes, the only man to enter the houses of Parliament with honest intentions, (he was going to blow them up!)
