linux 3.3-pre-rc1: Starting domU fails with Error: Failed to query current memory allocation of dom0.
Hi Konrad, Today i tried linuses tree of today (last commit is 4c4d285ad5665bfbd983b95fde8d7a477d24a361). It boots dom0 fine, but it fails to start any domU with: "Error: Failed to query current memory allocation of dom0." With my previous 3.1.5 kernel everything is fine, nothing else changed in config in between. dmesg and xm dmesg attached -- Sander Dom0 shows: total

From IRC, earlier today: <tschwinge> waldi: Aren't the Debian xen domU-capable kernels supposed to contain the PCI frontend (needed for PCI pass-through)? I'm getting:

VTd not showing PCI device in VM
I''m having trouble actually seeing a PCI device in my VMs. I''ve resolved several of my issues using previous posts and using the VTdHowTo wiki page. I have both VT and VTd BIOS options enabled. I have pciback hiding the devices and xm can list and assign the devices to VMs. I don''t see the PCI devices in my VMs though. I have tried a windows and a Linux vm, without

Stall on CPU
Hi, I have been receiving messages on a new DomU''s kern.log. I''ve done a lot of googling, but haven''t came up with anything very useful, at least not in a Xen context. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about what could be wrong. From everything I have read, there should be a stack trace included, but I am not seeing one. Thanks in advance, Ian. on

dma_alloc_coherent issue with tg3 in x86_64 build
During boot of dom0, I get the following. Box is remote, so I''m now waiting for proxy power button pusher ;-) tg3 init fails doing dma_alloc_coherent (I assume this is from tg3_init_one -> tg3_test_dma -> pci_alloc_consistent -> dma_alloc_coherent). Looks like an issue with the amount of memory in dom0. Is this known? thanks, -chris root (hd0,0) Filesystem type is ext2fs,

Unable to boot xen dom0 on IBM System x3250
I have an IBM System x 3250 that successfully boots using the standard kernel (2.6.18-8.1.10.el5) but fails to boot with the xen kernel. The kernel appears to fail when it attempts to initialize the driver for the onboard SAS controller (LSI Logic / Symbios Logic SAS1064E PCI-Express Fusion-MPT SAS). Can anyone provide any advice? Here's the relevant info. Please let me know if any other

compaq R4000 update (hogging interrupts)
After a couple hours last night.... doing a "killall -SIGUSR1 cpuspeed" bumps up the /proc/cpuinfo information for cpu mhz to 2393 Mhz. I did notice a little increase after that. However, the machine is still sluggish. I did a "hdparm -c 1 /dev/hda" but really did not notice any difference. I tried to download fglrx64_6_8_0_8.16.20-1.x86_64.rpm from ati (also 8.20.8) and get

task md1_resync:9770 blocked for more than 120 seconds and OOM errors
Hello, yesterday night I had a problem with my server located at a hoster (strato.de). I couldn't ssh to it and over the remote serial console I saw "out of memory" errors (sorry, don't have the text). Then I had reinstall CentOS 5.5/64 bit + all my setup (2h work), because I have a contract with a social network and they will shut down my little card game if it is not

pci passthrough question. Do I need VT-D ?
Hi, I really need help. I spent 2 days already on this pci passthrough thing. I''m using Xen 3.2.1 with Centos 5.2 64 bits on intel VT. I''d like to use PCI passthrough and I don''t think I need VT-D functionality. I''m trying to pass PCI 12:01.0 to my domU guest. I got this error when I use "xm create /etc/xen/hvm_centos_2.cfg" Using config file

PCI passthrough working on Xen 3!
Thanks to the kind person(s) who worked on this. I am using PCI passthrough right now and it works. I hope support is added for VT domains too; That would be extremely useful. So far I have tried a NIC, USB, and PCI Video. The NIC works flawlessly. USB works as long as the devices are present at the time the domain is started. Hotplugging USB devices seems not to work. Xen 4.0.0 - dom0_mem differs from dom0''s memory
Hello, I just upgraded from Xen-3.3.1 to Xen-4.0.0. System is Gentoo, Hardware is DualCore AMD Athlon, 8GB RAM. The kernel was upgraded from OpenSUSE 2.6.27.29-0.1.1 to Gentoo-2.6.32-xen- r1. The first boot failed with an OOM error during kernel/initrd load, so I adjusted the dom0_mem option and had to increase it''s avalue from 256M to at least 400M until the dom0 could boot. At all
