Can''t see changes in LV Size inside domU (after lvextend on dom0)
Hi guys, I''ve seen this post regarding "lvm resize" and this contains all the information I need to resize a disk inside domU : http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2006-11/msg00019.html >From this post: "With this I can extend the LVs in the Dom0, and either shutdown the DomU and resize2fs from Dom0 or even (tested on test VMs and low-use

du vs df size difference
Hi all, Curious issue.. looking in to how much disk space is being used on a machine (CentOS 5.3). When I compare the output of du vs df, I am seeing a 12GB difference with du saying 8G used and df saying 20G used. # du -hcx / 8.0G total # df -h / Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/xvda3 22G 20G 637M 97% / I recognize that in most cases du and df

Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!
Hello everyone, I''m quite a newbie with Xen and I''m currently having an issue. I run Xen 4 on Debian Squeeze x64 and I''m trying to build an OpenFiler DomU from the Xen domU filesystem tarbal they provide (See http://www.openfiler.com/community/download/). I downloaded the tarball and run ''tar xzpvf /root/soft/openfiler-2.3-x86_64.tar.gz'' to extract

quota doesn't appear to work - repquota only updates when quotacheck is run
Hi, I have exactly the same problem that you experienced in Nov, 2013. I am using ext4 with journaled quota and the quota usage is only updating when I run quotacheck manually. Have you found a solution? Regards, Alex > I have set up user quotas on an ext4 filesystem. Help with domU config file (convert from kvm)
Hi, currently i am using KVM, but i want to switch (back) to xen. All my VMs have a own partition inside a lvm. Inside of this partition are 2-3 own pratition. if i want to access them, i can do this by "kpartx -a /dev/vg/VM". Usually my domu configs look like this: bootloader=''/usr/bin/pygrub'' name="ipfire" memory=512 acpi=1 apic=1

[Xen-API] CloudLinux on Xen
Hello List, I am testing a XCP1 CentOS 5 paravirt vm with CloudLinux. http://cloudlinux.com/ CloudLinux is a great product for shared hosting and I was evaluation same on a paravirt guest. I found a strange thing in XCP. CloudLinux provides xen kernel for DomUs and after installing the CloudLinux in a DomU it actually got 32 cpus inside. I had assigned only 2 vCPU to that DomU. Multi-partition domain not recognizing extra partitions
Hello, I have been having an annoying problem with a multi-partition domain. This domain has a separate partition for : /, /home, /usr, /var, /tmp and /data. I created it using xen-tools and the custom partitionning scheme option. The partitions are inside a LVM. When I boot the domain, it mounts the / and swap partition but none of the others. Therefore it doesn''t work... I get the

xen 3.3.0 + intrepid domU (2.6.27-7-server) + >4gb ram problem
Hi, we''re using Xen 3.3.0 on Debian Etch with 2.6.18.8 kernel from xen.org on dom0. We have problems starting Intrepid domU (using Intrepid''s kernel 2.6.27-7-server) if we give more than 4GB of memory to this domain. Using memory = ''4096'' works perfectly, but changing it to ''4097'' already gives an error. Can anyone put some light on this?

sysvolreset failing on glusterfs
Hi, I'm trying to setup a domain with two DCs based on 4.0.3. Following some hint, I wanna use glusterfs for the sysvol. Glusterfs it runs nicely. I can set acls on both machines using setfacl and the other one lists them almost immediately with getfacl. But running "samba-tool ntacl sysvolreset is failing badly giving the following error. In a later attempt, without significant

can't pass pair of PCI cards to single domU
Folks - Any ideas on why I can''t pass a pair of HVR-1600 PCI cards to a single DomU? When I try, only a single one shows up. I can pass them to separate DomUs (though I''m having problems getting the one in the second DomU to capture properly, it does show up and gets recognized by the driver for it). Distro: Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS Kernel: ubuntu stock 3.2.0-31-generic #50 xen:

XEN domU + btrfs
Anybody tried to use btrfs on rootfs / in domU with pygrub? I tried and realised that pygrub can''t use btrfs. Workaround is to make /boot outside rootfs, but pygrub search kernel in directory /boot. It can be workaround via softlink on /boot, but... too much workarounds. Distro: debian squeeze + xen 4.0 I wait for yours experiences. Regards, Marcin Kuk

sfdisk -g support in DomU
Back in January there was a mail thread on this subject ( http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-devel/2005-01/msg00659.html ), however I see that blkfront still does not include ioctl support for disk geometry. So, any application that uses "sfdisk -g" to get the geometry of a partition, or disk, will fail when run in DomU. Is this a deliberate omission? Nick Logan
